Starting one or two weeks ago the deezer webplayer (FF 139+ for linux) shows a 404 page after I login.

Steps:

navigate to www.deezer.com

login

Click through captchas

select Family member

Land at 404

Removing all additional website info at that point and manually reverting the webaddress to www.deezer.com allows me to finally navigate to my actuall Deezer account and play music

Hello ​@MvdB thanks for sharing this issue, but please note that Linux OS is not supported by Deezer. So it is possible that the experience isn’t great as it is on the OS we fully support.

Fully understood, but this seemed to me a mere redirect link issue from one page to another. No layout or “complex code” interpretation issue.

Favourites link error message

 

When I click on the “Favourites” link in the Mac desktop app (version 7.0.110) I just get an error message which simply states that “an error occurred, please try again later” but it’s been doing this for weeks now.  Please can you resolve?

Hello. Good to know that other people had the same problem as I did. After several months of having this problem and almost no support from deezer, I decided to disconnect myself and my family. I really regret the decision because we wanted to support an alternative platform. But it was not working anymore for me and there was nobody to talk with from deezer side. 

I reckon that nobody cares about my family leaving the platform after several years, but just wanted to express myself. It was very frustrating to be suscribed to deezer and paying for several years and do not receive any support when needed. 

Good luck for the deezer platform and I hope you improve customers support.

Hello ​@grober101 Sorry to hear that you are having that issue on the Desktop app. While I can’t reproduce the issue, I understand it can be related to network connection, conflicts with other software products installed on the device. In the web version, do you have the same issue? Have you tried to remove the app, reset the PC and install back again? Also, did you notice that this start to happen after installing a specific version?

Hello ​@Leon.Rosa sorry to hear that you have left your Deezer Family subscription. As I have seen from your post, this is the first time, you posted on our community, so when you refer to lack of support, do mean lack of support on the Customer Support side?

Quick (friendly) rant about classical music

Quite often songs have these huge names (name of the piece, name of the section, movement description, opus number, key, even lyrics (!) etc.)
The current way it is displayed makes it quite a pain to navigate and find the song you want because the useful information (like the movement) appears at the very end of the name, unless:

  • you play it and wait for an eternity for the title name to scroll and finally show the useful information (iOS / android)
  • you extend the window (Windows) to a ridiculous size (doesn’t help for the titles shown in the library though)

Example

(Not even mentioning the crazy amount of redundant information in the titles shown here, that doesn’t help readability at all)

It would be amazing if you could find a better way to display the titles and/or “format” the titles to a standard that avoids bazillion duplicate information

Hi,
I’m new in Deezer family and for now really enjoyed to be and listen music here. You rocks!
But I have a problem wiht connectivity banner pops up every minute in my browser (I use Chrome on Windows 11). Here’s what it looks like:

Also when it pops up microfone with text is dissappear (for all songs that support it). It’s really annoying - please fix it or tell me what to do. Others apps that I listen (Android and Android TV) works fine.
I think I found my haven here. Keep it up Deezer!


Hello All, 

I’m having a new issue where selecting Songs/playlists/albums results in a 30s clip instead of the full song.

I’m using Deezer desktop app v7.0.110 with Windows 11. 

I’ve attempted to logout/login; uninstall/reinstall app but the issue remains. I also checked, and there’s no billing issue with my account. This issue does not follow to the android app version (v8.0.42.3) and seems to be isolated to the desktop application. 

Any recommendations?

Did you try to use the Deezer Windows app instead? Or another browser like Edge?

Desktop App Does Not Start

Issue description: After installing, after giving Mac permission to open the downloaded app, the icon appears in the dock/sidebar, but disappears immediately without opening a window.

Troubleshooting attempted: Deleted everything, re-downloaded, rebooted machine, made sure any VPN or other system level functions are turned off. I couldn’t find older versions of the app to test whether it’s an issue with the current version and my system. I couldn’t trace any logs on my system for what went wrong, but might have missed something.

Comment: I’m fine with using the browser version for now, but would like to have offline capacity soon on my laptop. Would appreciate help as I really want to move away from the SpotifAI-BS ecosystem for good. Generally Deezer seems great, but it would be great if you could prioritise a simple but bug-free environment over feature-rich but unreliable. Cheers to Paris from Bruxelles <3 

 


I’ve been using Deezer for about 6-7 months and I have never had a working PC application. It’s always crashed on me when I am trying to move it or resize it to my screen. This happens on ALL three computers I use it on (Work, and 2 at home). Its not a computer issue and I have tried contacting their support but they have not been able to fix it. And now today with the 7.0.120 release whenever I click on Home the whole Windows 11 PC application goes black and I have to relaunch it. I cannot click on home. The other tabs (explore, Favs, downloads) are fine. Why is this PC app such a buggy POS? Sorry …frustrated. Thinking Spotify was not so bad now least there app works despite its ad garbage everywhere for premium users.

 

Anyone have a fix for the black screen? I will probably go back to .90 because at least that worked other then the crashing when I try to resize to move the application around on the screen.

Hi Scott,
I have exactly the same issue. I contacted the support team, but the support guys weren’t able to help me at all. The app is a piece of shit. The desktop team should be fired immediately!

In the end, I made my own Deezer app by wrapping the Deezer web player with Edge WebView. It’s not perfect, but:

  • It doesn’t crash when you move the window.
  • It actually closes when you click the close button, instead of hiding in the tray.
  • The back button in search results takes you back, not to the top of the search list.

If you want, you can try it.

I understand building multiple apps for all possible clients is super costly, and I imagine the economic constraints on a smaller platform. The iPhone app is really good. But hey: Electron is really not that difficult, and you could always just open source it (or parts thereof). I’m sure there’s plenty devs out there willing to help improve this for the sake of competition in the market. Your IP is not the desktop frontend software...

For a few weeks I have done new playlists.

in the past when I sat a new playlist, deezer put a poster of a singer or group.

nowadays the new playlists only show a blank colour poster.

you see three blank posters.. recent playlists;

for example paul simon

After installing the desktop app i misclicked on the “download” button of my favorited songs (i migrated from spotify and i have over 5700 of them) now the app instantly crashes when i launch it, nothing helps

Hi! When I try to go to the favourite tracks page, I always encounter this error message. Hitting Retry does nothing.
I have tried to reinstall the app (it downloads an older version) and then update to the latest version and the problem always persists. I am running the desktop app on a MacBook Pro M1 (macOS Sequoia 15.6.1)

I agree with Qubi. Classical music needs some work on Deezer meta data.

I just want search on a “Composer,” e.g Beethoven, or heck John Lennon! And see what music they created.

Who composed it eg Beethoven or Lennon is far more interesting than who played on it or conducted it or what symphony played it or covered it. With Deezer, presently, we can’t even see the “Composer” meta data.
