Lady Gaga has just released her long-awaited seventh studio album, Mayhem. This new project marks a return to her dark pop roots, blending nostalgia with innovation in a modern and experimental sound.
The album had been generating great excitement since October 2024, when Gaga dropped the first single, Disease. This electrifying track fuses electropop with gothic and industrial influences, evoking hits like Bad Romance and The Cure. The intense and dramatic lyrics feature standout lines such as: "I could play the doctor, I can cure your disease."
Mayhem also features standout tracks like Perfect Celebrity and Abracadabra, the latter with a catchy and infectious melody. A special highlight is the heartfelt love song Blade of Grass, dedicated to her fiancé, Michael Polansky.
Closing the album on a high note is Die with a Smile, a powerful duet with Bruno Mars, released last year, that topped the charts in 28 countries and reigned as the world's best-selling single for 10 weeks.
