Playback stuttering in browser/app/android app

Hey,

Music playback just keeps stuttering, halting randomly, tried Hifi and HQ same problem. Sometimes the problem goes away for a few days, and then randomly starts happening again. My internet connection is plenty fast (900Mbps down, 250Mpbs up). Same thing on mobile internet. Same thing is happening in all all browsers, in windows and android app. Maybe deezer is throttling the bandwidth? I need help, i really like deezer, but this is off-putting.

Browser: Firefox 129.0 (64-bit)
OS: Windows 11

Haven’t seen this issue here. And I’m using Android and the browser.

Even on my Sonos device I don’t have this.

But do other users experience this or not? 

How long is this happening?

I play a random track sometimes it downloads the whole track instantly, but sometimes it doesn’t download the whole thing, just small chuncks.

As you can see on this screenshot, when the song is ending soon the next track is already donwloaded, but sometimes its not, so the playback stops or stutters.

 

 

Edit: weird thing, when im on a track that stops playback, i close firefox, 5 seconds later i open it again and play the same track that didnt play, now it instantly downloads the whole thing. But this is also random.

I just can’t understand why this is happening to you and (so far) nobody else has reported this.

I also contacted my ISP about potential service restrictions. They told me that they dont have any restrictions.

Maybe there is a problem with the local Deezer CDN close to my location (im located in Hungary), because the same exact problem is happening with Tidal, however Apple Music has no problems whatsoever.

Still an issue, contacted support several times, but no real help.

I can see it clearly, that Deezer is stuttering (or buffering).

Haven’t had this before, like I wrote.

What kind of advice support did give you?

Support advices so far:

  • Your Windows System is up to date.
  • Your Antivirus software is not blocking/limiting Deezer in any way.
  • The energy-saving option for Deezer is deactivated.
  • Deezer is installed in the default location (not moved manually).

Should you still have issues, please provide me with the following details:

  • Windows version and build ID (Settings -> System -> About -> Windows specifications)
  • Screenshot of energy saving options (Settings -> System -> Battery)
  • Check which Deezer Version is installed
  • Antivirus software you are using
  • Audio and graphic adapter driver dates and adapter names

 

The last reply was about sending the video, waiting for response.

I’m still experiencing the issue, it’s very random. Sometimes it’s working fine for a few days, and then it just starts randomly again.

It’s happening here as well. Spotify has no such problems. When deezer does that I change to spotify and it works flawlessly.

Hello ​@voyager ​@co5oos with the most recent desktop app 6.0.270 we got some great feedback that some issues have been tackled.

Do you still experience the issues reported on this thread?

If you are, please try to share a video and confirm the OS version of the system and Deezer version installed.

Also, please give it a try on the web to check if you can reproduce the same experience. 

Let us know which browser and version you used.

Sorry for the late comment. I’ve stopped experiencing the problem about a month ago. Streaming is rock solid since then.

@Leonídia.Deezer nope, music still stops from time-to-time during streaming songs with 6.0.270 client as well. windows version is 22631.4602 (23H2), just updating to 24H2, I will let you know afterwards..trying the web client now...

No success, it keeps doing that. It seems that the mobile client works OK on the same networks, but both the deezer app and the web client have issues and music just stops randomly from time to time, sometimes it restarts, but sometimes it stops completely. Everything is the latest version on the PC (windows 11 pro 24H2 latest KBs installed, latest deezer app (6.0.270)...

It could help to double-check your internet speed and ensure everything is working smoothly on your end.

Keep your Deezer app and PC up to date, and hopefully, things will stabilize.

@Leonídia.Deezer yeah, I already found that thread but nothing useful for my case. My network seems to be OK, speed is OK as well, video streaming also works like charm for all services and now I started to use apple music with highest lossless quality and so far no issues with it, songs start immediately. Deezer on the other hand is completely unreliable. I just recently tried to use deezer with heos at home, complete failure, playback is not reliable, music halts, stutters etc… It is still possible that the problem is with my network or something that is  affecting only me and not related to deezer at all, but unfortunately all the circumstances are against that. There certainly can be misterious issues with current it solutions, however this all does not help me and there are services that work flawlessly with my setup… My best guess still is that deezer’s network stack and network setup, including cdn, license servers, encryption etc…. have some rarely occurring intermittent issues that are very hard to catch or debug from centrally and certain subscriber scenarios are more sensitive to it than others...

Hi everyone, I still have the reported issue from time to time in mobile app, what I do is I clear the cache under settings in the app, close and open the app and problem solved (at least for another few days)
