Error: failed to play. The requested content is not loading

Hey@Michael.Schmidt sorry about that :/ Can you please tell me on what device/model/OS version this happens?

Google Pixel 3XL with Android 10.  But after I posted this, I enabled “join beta” and a new version of Deezer was installed (has beta on the icon) and the problem has gone away.  So I’ll stick with the beta and see how that goes and if the error returns, will repost.

Thanks

Can't they just put a code that detects when Deezer goes offline and play just the downloaded songs? Is it that hard? I half-downloaded a playlist because of my lack of space on my phone and I get the message "failed to play" "you can't access the content as the app is disconnected". It seems like the queued songs in online mode are still in the list when I switch to off-line.

Hi there @Michael.Schmidt

Sorry that's happened. Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card

Let me know how it goes :thumbsup_tone2:

same issue on Samsung S7 with Android 8.0.0, Deezer 6.0.5.271. I tried deleting cache, removing SD card, restart, reinstall app. After a while the message appears again.

Thanks for coming back with further details, Dan @dixon

Once more, apologies for the experience. Could you also let me know which part of the platform is more affected? You mentioned playlists and albums, but have you noticed one feature more than the others?

Do you also listen to music on WiFi or mobile data?

@Beco thanks a lot for the Beta heads-up! ⬆️ That's crucial!

With a new release every couple of weeks, we need to keep digging to improve the experience. The good news is that this year our Android player will get a much-needed update!

Hey @Aroth

Sorry that's happening.

Could you please let us know your device model, OS and Deezer app version? We might be already working on a solution.

About Google, we're working with them to improve this :thumbsup_tone2:

It’s the same for me on our family account - and this is NOT an issue with the phone or its settings. It’s happening on my phone, on my two PCs (both on Windows and Ubuntu), in all possible browsers and also in the desktop app. I’m tired of the support asking people about what phone they’re using, I’m facing this issue for a long time now (even on my previous phone) and I am losing my patience.

Hi Rudi,

Yeah so today I found it has been constant. If I use flow it stops after two/three tracks at best, favorite tracks and or any playlist I have saved and or downloaded. Seems like it struggles to load the following track. I use both WiFi and mobile data and not much difference with either.

@TVC

There are specific issues affecting only Huawei phones, as this topic shows - your phone could be experiencing this. We're working on them and will keep everyone updated. I know it's not much but you already tried most available workarounds.

Same problem. Error MS2004 on random albums/tracks. What I already tried:

  • give more space to the cache;
  • reinstall app;
  • give less space to the cache;

Xiaomi Mi8.

I’m very very tired of seeing “brand new features with super-duper mood recommendation that allows you to listen even more pop charts from 2000-s” but having at the same time buggy basic functional. It makes using app unpredictable and as many other people here, I’m not sure that I want to continue my subscription.

Same issue happening here on computer . Fixed when I downloaded an older version, but I get the notification non stop to upgrade. Very frustrating.

Only solution is to uninstall latest stable version 6.2.23.93 that is on the playstore.

Then you find older version of the app for example  6.2.22.1.

It is easy to find on various apk sites , just type deezer older versions on your browser.

After you install you should disable automatic updates on google play store because it will update on new version that has issues.

Rudi what do you mean by Android player update later this year?

I tried that many times on the production version with no success.  Btw, the Pixel doesn’t have an SD slot??

Hi @Rudi

I have the same issue - on Samsung. Same issue on all wifi and mobile networks.

Followed your steps above and it worked for 3 songs..

Hey @Michael.Schmidt

Doesn't it have it? Sorry about that. I'm not too familiar with the specs of the device.

But I've got an idea. I've seen another user reporting no more issues after installing our Beta Android app. Why don't you give it a go? You just need to register for the program first. More info can be found here :thumbsup_tone2:

something happenedwith the app for android ? nothing works from favorite music, lists or recommendations

Hi @pablo.andres.barrera.hernandez, hi @ANDREAfrm19 we are very sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. Please bear in mind that listening to music is using loads of data. In case the issue only happens with mobile data, try strong Wifi or make sure your music is downloaded for sure :wink:

Otherwise, could you please perform all of these troubleshooting steps again, exactly in the order mentioned. Otherwise it does not fix it.

Please keep in mind this will remove any downloaded songs on this device, but you can easily download them again afterwards, from your Favourites.

  1. Click on My Music/Favourites (the little heart) >>> Gear Wheel JiE3V4t.png>>> App Settings >>> Smart Cache>>> slide the blue button towards the middle of the line.
  2. If you are using the battery saving mode on your device please turn it off for once and try to test Deezer again.
  3. Click on My Music/Favourites (the little heart) >>> Gear Wheel JiE3V4t.png>>> App Settings >>> Disc Usage >>>Clear All
  4. uninstall Deezer
  5. remove the SD card
  6. restart your phone
  7. reinstall Deezer (available on Google Play)
  8. open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist and play one song
  9. reinsert the SD card

This should fix the issue but please let me know if you need any further help.

I keep getting this error pop up, not sure how to fix it. I've tried a few things
Remove SD card, uninstall Deezer, clean phone cache, restart phone, reinstall deezer. Same error pops up straight away again. I only started noticing this error recently.

I have an Lg g6

Same issue here - tried to clear cache in the settings but didn’t work!

So in the Deezer APP try this….

clear all downloads, close app, try and force close all the way if you know how. Reopen, and find your settings in the Deezer app for audio quality, set to what you want, then find the data storage settings and set the amount of buffer, it’s called smart buffer and crank it up, say add 50    Then close out again,.  Open and start picking songs to download.  😉 that should do it.

Hi last two days content stops loading have uninstalled cleared cache etc and works for first time but when go to app for second time contents does not load.  Using beta with note 9

Hey @dixon do you have an SD card?

I meant that @Beco despite our following app updates, we're actually working on renewing our player. Without going into much unnecessary detail, we made one priority in 2021 to drastically improve the reliability of our service, due to the feedback for the past couple of years. So the work takes several months but then pays off in the long run :grin:

Hi @ro4pvb1c

Sorry about that. Our developers are investigating this for a while now. I'll come back here if I get an update.
But in the meantime, please follow the troubleshooting steps you tried before, but in the same order just to ensure we tried everything. I'd also log out and download our latest version of the app to see if it helps.
