Deezer Freezes on welcome screen in Landscape Mode

When launching Deezer (cold open) while the phone is in landscape mode, the app gets stuck on the purple heart splash screen and becomes completely unresponsive. The only workaround I’ve found is to force close the app, rotate the phone back to portrait mode, and then reopen it — which is quite frustrating. Is anyone else experiencing this? Would appreciate a fix — it’s been pretty annoying.

I’ve tried it:

Cold start from landscape mode and then starting Deezer.

I didn’t experience any issues. Deezer starts right after the splash screen and I can play music.

I’ve got a Oppo phone with Android 13 and Deezer 8.0.43.4.

Hi @vojce !

Deezer on Android does not natively support landscape mode (horizontal orientation) for the main app interface. However, you can force the app to display in landscape mode using some Android settings, but this might not work perfectly and could cause issues with certain Deezer features .

Hi @Nina Nebo, Just wanted to point out that landscape mode actually worked fine a couple of versions ago, without any issues. I often use Deezer on my phone while docked horizontally, and the layout in landscape looks pretty decent — definitely usable (see attached image).

It’s a bit disappointing that the app now freezes completely when opened in this orientation. Even if full landscape support isn’t a priority, it would be great if the app at least didn’t crash or hang on cold open in this mode.

Would appreciate it if this could be passed along to the dev team. Thanks!
