Audio quality

I set the audio quality to high quality, but the HQ icon does not appear quite often. What does it mean? What is the audio quality then?

    All depends on your internet connection . If you have faster internet speeds then you can use higher bitrate , but if you have slower internet connections you need use lower bitrate .
    The right bitrate for streaming typically depends on the streaming platform and the type of audio. Recommended bitrate is 128kbps - 160kbps

        Hey, Some streaming services offer high-quality audio only for premium subscribers. If you're on a free or basic plan, you might not always get access to high-quality audio.

        Hello @kosa kosik indeed the internet connection speed plays an important role here (thanks @Nina Nebo). Nevertheless I wonder if you are using Wifi connection or mobile data connection when that happens.

        Our catalog is all encoded in HQ quality and we offer already over 90% of it in Hi-fi quality.

        Does this happen with content that you listen offline or online? Can you also give details about the device, OS, Deezer Version where this happens?
