My Deezer account is being used by someone else

Hello!

Today I run into the “Why has the music stopped?” pop-up every 1-3 minutes, saying that my account is being used on another device.

I shut off my laptop and my phone (only devices with deezer connected), unlinked my phone from the authorized devices in the settings, changed password, unlinked google login, and changed the password again.

Additionally, I cleared both the Cache and the cookies on the browser (opera). The pop-up was still pop-upping, so I disconnected deezer from the browser and downloaded the desktop app.

This problem is still unsolved.

How shall I proceed?

Thanks!

Hi @osama Seba I am sorry to hear that.
I’ve made some adjustments and clean up in your account and also sent you a password reset link to your email. Please click on that link, proceed to change your password and login again with your new details.
That should fix the problem.
Let me know if it works :nerd:

Recently I get a notification that I'm using my account on another device while I'm listening to my list, and the list stops and changes to a random stupid list on deezer,

This is becoming very annoying

How can I fix this problem,

P. S  I'm only using my account on my phone app, no other device

Hi there @ToriS

Sorry that's the case with you. But don't worry, I've had a look at your account and carried out some maintenance. I've also sent you password reset email so please change your password once more and let me know if the problem persists :thumbsup_tone2:

Hey I’m having the same problem, noticed random songs saved in my favourites that def wasn’t me. Changed password and nothing still happens ??

Im also having the same issue, my music keeps stopping because of someone else. Can all the devices get unlinked from my account? And change my password?

Same problem here : No other devices appears connected and still someone is keeping listening to music and adding it to my favorite !
I have already changed my password for deezer and my email account used to connect. Don’t know what to do anymore.

This has been more than 2 years of people complaining about no feature to disconnect all devices from the account… maybe might be time to start thinking of it, don’t you think ?

I am really starting to think of deleting my account.

This is now happening to me! I've already changed my password but it's still happening! There's only mine and my partners phones connected and our google home (but there's no one home and it's still happening!) I've checked devices and no other device but my own has been active...

Are you and your partner listening at the same time? Do you have a Family account?

Do you receive an error message?

Me and my partner are not listening at the same time, I have a premium subscription. He was asleep when I was trying to listen and hadn't been active since 6pm.

none of the other devices I have connected was listening at the same time as me. I've also had all my 1500 favourited/downloaded songs disappear today.

Hi @J_hutch I did some maintenance in your account, closed session in all devices where the account could be open and I sent you a password request link to your email. Please click on the link and enter a new password.
Login again (remove those random songs)and let me know if that helps.
Thanks

As someone already said:

“Hi, I have the same problem of with someone else listening on my personal account. I already have changed my password and disconnected all devices linked. Can you help me? Thanks.”

Deleted all connected devices, changed password, unlinked fb account and linked google, nothing helped. Thanks.

I am having the same issue. I have deleted all devices and apps that have access and have reset the password, and STILL someone is cutting off my music and playing their own. How do I get this to stop?

And how can I trust Deezer' security going forward? I am deeply disturbed by this...

Hi @Jen94sorry to hear that you are having this kind of experience.

Checking your account, I notice that you have a Premium account and two devices ( iPhone and Google Pixel), Just for your information if you and your husband use the same account, one of you will keep receiving this alert message.

Anyway to prevent any further issue in case you have separate Deezer accounts, I have unlinked programs and devices from your account to eliminate any unwanted devices and closed all open sessions on your account.

In order to enhance security on your Deezer account I suggest that you update your mailbox password.

Once it's done, please reset your Deezer account password here
Choose a password with at least 12 characters including a capital letter, a number and a special character.
Always use your email and password to access our app, avoiding linking your account to Facebook or Google.

To secure all your online accounts, I advise you to regularly scan your systems for malicious software (fishing!);
Avoid using the same email and password combination for all online services;
Use your email address and password as login in the app; Scan your device for possible virus and avoid using your Deezer on the devices or PCs of friends and family, they may contain viruses and have access to your data.

Hi. Like others on this thread I find that my listening is interrupted by what appears to be another user on my account. I’ve checked users on my account and connected devices but can’t see the source of the problem there. I have tried to change both my password and email but the code never reaches my email.

Thank you, I have changed my email and my Deezer password. Me and my partner do share the one account however he was sleeping at the time I was trying to listen so it definitely wasn't him, which is why I was confused and frustrated

I am having the same problem. I have deleted all devices that have access, except mine and  and still getting notifications that someone else is playing music on other device? Can you please do something.

Hi @Lawrence.Stephen.Davies I am sorry to hear that.
I have closed session in all devices where the account could be open and I sent you a password request link to your email. Please click on the link and enter a new password.

If the problem continues after that, please let me know :relaxed:

I'm dealing with the same problem I have no other device active then my phone, Bluetoothed to my speaker. Unsure why its happening?

Thank you! I looked hard but couldn’t find a way to get in touch, so this is very helpful.

Note: I did change my password before even coming here, and it didn’t help at all.

Thanks, they have right tools to help.

Sometimes you get answer also here, but it depends who is working here and when.

Usually they get back soon, but Chat is always instant help.

Thanks @Jaime.

Much better already. Appreciate the help!

Why is there music i've never listened to, by artists I've never heard of in my favourites list. What is the point of a favourite list that is full of music I don't want? I understand that this may occur with a free service, but not one that I pay for.

Hey @Holden I am sorry to hear that. In this case I would recommend to contact our Deezer support team and one of our agents will be able to help you to close session in any device where the account might be opened and also make sure that you receive the link to reset your password.
Thanks and apologies for the inconvenience

Hi @Elysia Brenner I am happy that support agents were able to help.
Keep us posted if the same problem happens again :)

I’ve started getting the “hmm...someone else must be listening” error today.  Is there really someone else listening as I only see one device linked to the account and don’t play off of anything other than my iPad.

  1. How do I find out if someone has really hacked into my account?
  2. if not, then what’s causing this and what is the fix?
