That’s interesting, thanks for reporting. 👍 I have only read from family members and seen screenshots that they cannot enable scrobbling in the Sharing Preferences, but if it still works and only is not visible anymore after joining a family with their separate Free account, I will mention that in the Deezer Scrobbling FAQ of course.

Are you a family member, but not the account owner? Unfortunately those cannot see the Last.fm option in the Sharing Preferences and have to use external scrobbling apps like the Web Scrobbler browser extension.

Not true, as a family member account you actually can use the internal Scrobble option.
If I remember correctly; you first have to set up your personal Deezer-account and fix the Last.fm option in the Sharing Preferences. After that you join with that exact account as family member and the Sharing Preferences or Last.fm option will disappear, but scrobbling feature will still work anyway.😀 (https://www.last.fm/user/KingBarendrecht)
Yes i did this in feb 2021 and scrobbling still works.

Mobile users who do not own a desktop computer can access the necessary Sharing Preferences to connect their Deezer and Last.fm accounts in the mobile browser using its desktop mode:

https://www.deezer.com/account/share

Then it should look similar to this page in the web player:

You may have to hold your mobile phone horizontally and swipe to the right side to see the LINK button for Last.fm. If you tap it, the Last.fm authorisation page will open in the browser where you have to confirm access for Deezer.

Last.fm today released a new payment method for Pro subscriptions besides PayPal which enables worldwide payment in most countries which block PayPal. This might also be interesting for Deezer users wanting to benefit from Pro features like editing their scrobbles with missing ampersands etc., but couldn't yet due to living in an unsupported country like Turkey or Ukraine.

Yes, currently it is broken. See my reply in this Last.fm support forum thread.

Thanks, most of it seems to be back now.

Scrobbling to Last.fm isn’t working as of 14hrs ago. I only manage to scrobble from Openscrobbler or similar sites.

Is this something temporary and will my listening history be recovered? I am mostly scrobbling from my iPhone and directly from the browser, neither seem to work now (but they used to until yesterday).

Mine currently works, so it seems there is no general problem. Did you read the official Deezer Scrobbling FAQ on the Last.fm support forum?

I’m having no luck getting the desktop app to scrobble.

Another update: since today scrobbling has been working fine across all my devices. I have no idea why, I didn't change anything.

I would like to add that I just tried using the desktop app on Windows and this works. However, this is my least used device.

No, I don't have the browser extension installed.

Do you use the Web Scrobbler browser extension perhaps, so that is why your Deezer listening is scrobbled in the web player? I haven’t heard of current problems with macOS/iOS yet, it works for me on Windows.

I'm also having issues with Last.fm scrobbling. I have enabled it (the logo is red), but the songs only get scrobbled when I use the web player. I use the desktop player (on macOS) and the iOS app. Both are up to date. I did wait long enough for the songs to end and I also tried reconnecting. Is there anything else I could try?

This feature really is a deciding factor for me whether I will continue using Deezer or not.

Today Last.fm released the new feature of saving edited scrobbles for later playback for Last.fm Pro users:

https://support.last.fm/t/save-edited-scrobbles/638

Save edited scrobbles in bulk for artists, albums and tracks

This will help Deezer users who have connected to Last.fm in their Sharing Preferences to correct their scrobbles from known issues like missing ampersands. The overview of edited scrobbles shows the original scrobble, and you can see your edits when clicking on the Edit icon there. It is sorted alphabetically per track and artist name. The external bulk scrobble edit script by Rudey should also work with the new feature without needing an update, as you can see in the screenshot, so you can now bulk edit artist, album and track names at once and only once.

Even if it is already possible with Pano and Web Scrobbler, you can’t edit all the tracks from an album at once. For example,

Why this (Acoustic) after every song title???

Currently the Last.fm developers are working on a feature for Pro users to save their edited scrobbles for later playback independent from the source which would also allow to fix some of the known Deezer issues with scrobbling, so you would only have to edit your Deezer scrobbles once and not everytime when you play a related song. This is already possible with external scrobbling apps like the Web Scrobbler browser extension and Pano Scrobbler for Android.

Please remove those unnecessary album tags like (Deluxe Galaxy Wide Edition Standard Album Version).

Not to mention miswritten messes like Seasick Steve’s “Man From Another Time ( Only 2)”.

Isn’t there anyone on Deezer hired to mind those tags? Last.fm users like me care too much about these dumb letters. You seriously need a tag upkeeper.

Fair point in your comments @jasongenova

Our Legend here has been advocating for improvements for quite a long time @bluezzbastardzz but we haven't managed to convince our decision makers to prioritise this one yet. There's an open discussion about it here at Deezer, and because of the success of Last.fm, I haven't dropped the towel on this one. Thanks a lot for your support and patience!

Did you wait long enough for the whole song to scrobble and the next song to start playing already? The internal Deezer scrobbling does not provide information about the currently playing song unfortunately, so there is no “Scrobbling now” shown in your Last.fm recent tracks, it will appear as scrobbled only a few seconds after the new song has already started. So you might think scrobbling is not working, but in fact it does.

If you use the Web Scrobbler browser extension with the Deezer web player, this would work though. It would also explain why you can scrobble with the web player while the desktop app would not work.

Yes I’m already aware of everything you’ve said. No I don’t use an extension. As far as I’m concerned it’s an issue that Deezer isn’t really interested in fixing so I suppose we’ll leave it at that.

Do you see the Last.fm logo in your Sharing Preferences of the Deezer web player, and is it red or greyed out?

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I successfully linked it yesterday, and it would scrobble only if I was using the webpage; not the desktop app itself.

I also unlinked and redid the process to see if it would help but it didn’t.

Here's what it looks like
