Hi there @foxxmark

Let's put your comment here because the idea is linked to this. We just need to see more users voting for it!
@Rudi

I don't mind, bro

We need more customization and the ability to choose or exclude music from region or languages !
There is absolutely 0 possibility of customization in Deezer that's really bad...

Hi, I've registered Deezer Family since 2017.

I'm living in Saudi Arabia, yet I don't want to get recommendations of Arabic music on FLOW, Playlists, lists names  now in Arabic!! . It's like spamming!!

Just add an option to (not to recommend songs based on region) please, and you can still keep songs copyrighs based on region.

If I want Arabic music I would've subscribed to a local platform, and I don't want to keep skipping Arabic songs from recommendations while working!!

Thank you.

This is important! I live in /non-english/ language country and it seems like that we don't have different genres. Throwing all songs of the same language in the same basket ... And I like 5, maybe 10 % of them. @tekkie solution would be great!
I hate local songs. Always dislike them when i listen to them.

It shouldn't be hard to implement option to disable suggestions based on location!

I see there are lots of really great suggestions and ideas on this forum, but nothing was implemented.
What are your devs doing all day at their work places? Moving buttons on the design from left to right or playing with NERF guns?

This! The reason I don't bother at all with these online entertainment services is that they push so much shite generated by some loosely averaged profiling and as it was pointed out, you need to be more active using the service to fight back that flow of dumb in order to keep your recommendations to your tastes, something that's actually very integral part of their business models, to trick the users to come back over and over again by gaming their heads with something users are urged to block. So sickening business and not at all in any good way. #deleteinternet

Unfortunately just like you sad, it's a business aimed to the majority of listeners that doesn't know the difference between a major and minor key. Mainstream. End of the game. Spotify seems to be winning this battle, at least doesn't have the 2K limit for the favorite tracks list that it seems to be the seed for a good suggestion. Actually, with only a few hundred tracks added as favorites spotify is doing a much better job on suggesting new stuff. No bullshit!

The last entry is 8 months old. It seems that this problem has never been solved. I have entered 140 artists and some tens of favorites. I like to listen to Fusion or Nu-Jazz. So my preference should be clear now. And I'm constantly being suggested Frank Sinatra and Armstrong.  Makes me want to puke.  Now I just start the albums I like. I used to listen to AccuJazz. There are only automatic channels, but the selection was great, unfortunately AccuJazz doesn't have a subscription without advertising.

Thanks Shannon! It seems some other people are having the same issues I am. Deezer was better in the past and lately things seems to be getting worse/broken.
Lets wait and see if they get it right.
Quite off-topic but the mobile app is an example of what could be improved having the same web app features. "Hear this" is one of the features that never worked well on the mobile app and now it doesn't exist any more in favor of some awkward playlists based on artists I like that actually get it all wrong. It seems Deezer is trying to add Pandora like features but it's a bit far from getting it to work correctly. It's easy to find mixed salsa and rock songs from two different artists sharing the same name, so things seems to be sorted based on the artist name and not on the music itself. Hope they can get it working right as it's a very good idea!
Cheers!

Hi there, we've already passed the feedback about the missing hear this on the app on to the team. As of now, it's intended to not have in the app, but maybe this will change in the future :)

Regarding two artists with the same name, this is something that happens sometimes and we really appreciate this feedback from users. If you can think of a profile, would you mind letting us know in the music forum? We will let our music team straight away and they can fix this easily 🙂

I live in israel, but i don't wanna see songs in hebrew. only in English. My account is in Englise, but i still see songs in hebrew. When i go to "popular" i see Israeli singers. i don't want that. i don't like israeli music. so how can i set Deezer to show me music like i live in the US?

@Benjaminc I moved your question to this topic as it was already discussed here :)
My English isn't my main language. Can you give me tl;dr so i won't need to read all the discussion? Pretty please 😅
Hi,

In the past few weeks, my usually-great flow playlists have been absolutely bombarded with low-quality local music, and I don't understand why did that happen. When it comes to my listening habits, I only listen to one local artist regularly (Silente) and almost never anyone else, yet my playlists keep getting polluted with all varieties of local artists. The infuriating part here is that the band I listen to is a rock band, yet the recommendations I'm getting on a local level contain all kinds of terrible pop and turbofolk music.

Is there a way I can change my country for recommendations, or disable local music recommendations all-together? Deezer's flows have been really good for me since their release, but in the past month or so they got to a point where I would have to skip every other song if I wanted to take a listen...

Hello @blendkrasniqi thank you for outlining this further. We are sorry, there is no fixed expected date of implementation yet but I promise that we keep you updated on that

Hi @Wall Tearer yes, I do understand that you want to ignore German Rap or Schlager because I am experiencing the same with my German Deezer account. We are forwarding your feedback to our product managers and they are giving their best to give you a more and more tailored-to-your-taste music experience.

Please bear in mind that there are many other ways to discover new music, i.e. Flow, Discovery playlist, recommended releases, artist mix of your favourite artists, track mix of your favourite tracks etc. There are many ways to find treasures

The issue I have with your suggestion about disliking country specific music in Flow is that they don't show in the regular flow at all. My problem is that they show up in the "Inspired by" flow playlists - however I cannot seem to find a "dislike" or "don't show this again" button anywhere in those.

The "Inspired by" is our new Flow tabs 🙂 You don't get the dislike button because these tabs are updated weekly. It's a playlist made from Deezer to you based on your Flow. You can learn a bit more about it here. 😉

I know! But if it's based on my flow, that means I should have a way of influencing it, correct?

Still, for some reason, my flow almost never plays local songs for me (and when it does, it's only the ones I listen to), yet those "Inspired by" keep getting more and more cluttered by local songs. And I would like to declutter those "Inspired by" tabs so I can enjoy them too, as I did before they started getting ruined 😞

Hi Anja, thanks for replying.
I have thousands of tracks, artists and albums flagged as favorites in a very specific style so I don't think my account lacks this information. Maybe it’s a bug or a momentary problem, Anyway, it's quite annoying when it happens. I keep clicking the "x" when I dislike something that is playing but sometimes a group of
5 or 6 songs keeps playing in a loop no matter how many times I click on the "x" for those songs.
Hope this can be fixed...
Thanks!

Looks like this issue is still there. I just started using the app and, even if I have a lot of artist liked, I’m still getting mainstream garbage thrown at me every time a song finishes.

It would be such a fantastic feature if Deezer could work as a mix of what it is right now and Pandora. Pandora doesn't take into account the band/artist name, but the actual music, how it's it structure, kind of lyrics, male/female singer, rock/pop/jazz/classical/major/minor etc so if you pick some songs it will always suggest something related with that style and not based on the artist name/country or associations. The downside, you can´t listen to an album like Deezer, only music suggested by Pandora based on the style/artists you used as "seed".
Mixing this two algorithms would certainly bring Deezer to the number one on the list of streaming services. And of course stop suggesting crappy music / "artist" as a starter would also help a lot.

Thanks for the feedback! We are improving our algorithms and all feedbacks are welcome! I'm sorry that there is nothing I can change right now, but we will pass your suggestion on to our devs. 😉

The problem is real.

I’ve tried all streaming apps and Deezer is in the middle when it comes to recommendations.

The main problem with Deezer, is that their algorithm just isn’t working right. You get trackmix opened when cooking salty fish and spaghetti, and you need to run in same second to change the trackmix as it may not play music related to it and start with charts. When you find good trackmix, they play in a loop same mauybe 25-30 tracks so you have music only for an hour, sometimes twice as much.

Weakest point is main page. When they do have 1-2 rows personalised with daily and lately played.

It’s not enough.
I use now different app and I do like their way. Obviously can not post screenshots.

It may be considered recommending them etc.

However what they do, they have constantly personal rows all over the main page.

It keeps me basically living in the app.

When I come back to deezer, I don’t have the same interactions as they don’t have tools for it.

As you said, we don’t need charts, when there’s ton of our data what we consume and how we want to be consumed. Personally I don’t want to pay a dime with attention to charts, we have radio.

I hope it can be changed.

I do not want to listen location based music!  I click hundreds of local artists to “do not recommend list”  and still your alco do not get the hint. I do not want to change to other location, because I have no idea which location has same music taste that I have. FLAC and yearly plan would have been reason to be here, but your recommendations are useless and the other has now good recommendations .
