The song that impacted you the most -THE THREAD 🔉
I’ve posted repeatedly about the auto-logouts and failing captchas. Some shrill named Rudi keeps answering “We’re working on it.” The only correct work is to remove it, but you can’t even manage that. How long does it take to remove a feature? In my expert-level, professional opinion, 1 hour and a cycle of testing. Whatever you are doing is failing. Today, months into this issue, I was auto-logged off, and forced to login twice because the first captcha failed. This is not acceptable customer service. And so I am ending my subscription. I find the YouTube Music App to be refreshing and as functional as Deezer. Stitcher will give me more podcasts than Deezer. I’ve always paired Deezer with Soundcloud. My idea is to tell all Deezer Subscribers to change their subscriptions to a music service that listens to the needs of their subscribers. Maybe one or more of the above will work for them. Almost certainly less annoying than Deezer.
There’s no need for auto-logouts, captchas nor mfa. Deezer has all the information on their end from requests from the apps themselves to understand if there is some nefarious activity going on with a login. We can’t do anything in the app without that information going to Deezer. So, the amount of data Deezer has about everyone’s activity is enormous, and clearly enough to identify any bad actors. There are several data and AI frameworks to help them understand these patterns. In fact, these systems do a much better job of identifying problems than a captcha does at preventing the same. If I had to guess, Deezer failed to research best practices when they thought they had a problem, and instead of investing in a framework to help identify the problem, thought adding a captcha would solve “it”. Because they never identified IF they had a problem, or WHAT the problem was, they pointed to the captcha, saying “SEE! WE DID IT!”, and refuse to admit failure to solve anything because
I have version 4.19.20, which did not store credentials, required a captcha. The first captcha effort failed when it did not load new images after some had been selected. Of course this error on your part wouldn’t let me continue, instead preventing me from using the service for which I’ve already paid. What a second rate effort (at best). If you are asking me to degrade to an older version, then you need to provide instructions. At this point, I’m looking for alternatives. None of us should have to pay for services that intentionally prevent core usage. In fact, by many legal definitions, that’s considered fraud.
YES!!! Good UI design puts the most common functions in clear, common view. The current design in this area fails in many ways. For example, hover over the volume icon, and move the mouse in a straight line to the lowest volume on the bar - the pop-over hides itself. Supremely annoying, and clearly bad design. Thanks!
The last several times logging into the deezer desktop app, it has forgotten my credentials and required an additional verification process. Deezer is a music listening app. There’s no security issue and no call for additional verification. The verification process you have chosen takes an unreasonable amount of time to complete, which makes it a barrier to usability for a casual use application. There’s just no logical reason to have the second verification, and certainly not one that takes more than a fraction of a second to complete. I am asking you to remove that requirement as a hindrance to usability that solves no real problem. Sincerely, Mark Aldridge
