The classic Moody Blues albums - intended to be heard as a seamless flow of one song into another.
Van Morrison - a crusty old curmudgeon, still with the soul and voice of a very grumpy angel,
Music is probably the most ancient form of human expression: older than visual art, older even than speech. Perhaps even predating fully formed human consciousness. It’s an integral part of who and what we are. It should also be a unifying force. But as a great arts critic said many years ago, the last great musical consensus was the early Beatles output—everyone admired them, from great classical conductors to pre-teen kids. They were pan-cultural. To not like them required a degree of conscious cultural distancing.Sadly now, in the hands of activists and the industry, music has largely become just one more statement of subcultural identity, along with language, clothing and hairstyles. And that has deprived all of us of a shared symbolic experience.Music is life. We need it, and we need to know that we need it. The fact that musical genres are now so fragmented isn’t that much of a problem. Now we have to show our mutual humanity by respecting other people’s divergent musical tastes
Cheers, Rafael. I mean that when I don’t want a track recommending, it’s because it’s either rubbish filler (alt. takes, outtakes, demos, interviews, rough mixes, etc.) or simply a track that puts me off listening to the album. In that case, in addition to keeping it out of auto-playlists, I’d like it to be skipped when playing back the album and not to take uo disk space by downloading a local copy when the rest of the album is downloaded. I hope this clarifies, and that I’m not expecting too much.P.S. I’m delighted that favourite track limit is being increased to 10k. Thanks to all.
Rudi17 hours ago The most voted idea in our Deezer Community. We're proud to announce that our favorite tracks limit has been increased to 10,000 tracks! This is an immense development. Well done to all.
Even as a bloke myself, I was taken aback to see comments that we should “balance” playlists celebrating women artists with others celebrating men. Missing the point rather more than slightly, I think. I had to fight a string temptation to comment with some specific (and satirical) song suggestions for such a playlist: starting with “21st Century Schizoid Man” (King Crimson) and continuing via “Neanderthal Man” (Hotlegs), “My Ding-A-Ling” (Chuck Berry) and so on.At least some of us guys appreciate an attempt like this to promote female artists. Well done, Deezer.
Hi @Freezer does the song jumps before ending? as the length of the track is 1’17” and I have tested on our side without problem. Thanks Yes the length is correct. Strange - I'll try it on another device. Thanks.
Would love to have the original mix of “Tales from Topographic Oceans” by Yes, without the infuriating 2-minute ambient intro that was added to an early remaster. Original track 1 is under 21 mins and launches straight into vocal. Many thanks.

Another vote for increasing the favourite tracks limit to 10,000.I know some S-----y users use the favourites playlist as a shortcut for downloading their entire library. Is this what Deezer is trying to discourage? (Asking for a friend)
Confused by repeated claim there is no inbuilt EQ the mobile app. True, the Android eq button simply links to the (excellent) systemwide EQ, and the inability to save multi user presets is Google’s oversight. However, for those using the (somewhat better finished) iPhone version of the Deezer app, there is unquestionably a set of embedded EQ sliders, which works quite effectively within the unavoidable limitations of a 5-band setup. Bearing in mind the horrible default bias of the iPhone, it would be great to expand this functionality to 8 or 10 channels and allow the creation of user presets. This would also add value to the Android version, as Devs are not tied to the system sound settings. As someone with specific hearing issues, I need a separate, carefully tailored EQ adjustment for each combination of device and reproduction to make music comfortably listenable, and this would be my personal development priority. Respect.
