I live in the Netherlands, and I contacted HEOS support for this issue.

They replied that I should be possible to stream FLAC when you have a HiFi subscription.

So I sent them a print screen of the HEOS app showing only 320kbps MP3 for a song that's streamed in HiFi in the Deezer app.

I keep you guys posted….

Looking forward to this feature becoming available as I’d like to upgrade to Hifi but neither my HEOS devices nor the Bose SoundTouch system or Apple TV are supported by Deezer Hifi yet.

Hey @Vernen

Sorry to hear that but thanks for getting in touch with us. I encourage you to ask Denon/HEOS about it, it's their app so only they can give a timeline for this. We're also waiting for more info from them and have assisted their developers in the process. Maybe follow @HurdyG's advice :thumbsup_tone2:

Good Day,

I have been a loyal supporter of Deezer HiFi for over a year now. To date I have been using Deezer HiFi via Musiccast on my Yamaha Aventage AVR. I have recently decided to get a Marantz PM7000N. What a huge mistake as I find that Heos App does not support Deezer HiFi. Only 320kbps MP3. Please advise on a time to resolution. I am starting to research other streaming services that support higher resolution streaming on Heos.

Regards,

Vernen

Is there anything we can do to push this with denon

Happy to hassle them on social media 😜

Hey @ABRESKY

Thanks for reaching out again. They have all they need from us to enable this, but there's work to be done on their app.

It's been worked on at HEOS, we're waiting for further updates from them too. We'll let you know when we hear back, but rest assured things are progressing on this

Hi @Badirr @lvrmsc @Pima @Alex Po

Thanks for waiting. After a few chats with our product teams about this, we managed to activate FLAC streaming for the HEOS app   I now need you to test this and let me know how it works, to make sure we're doing the right thing

Hi Rudi,

What is the latest status on this finding?

From your post I  understand that you managed to stream Deezer Hifi (FLAC files) via HEOS app, I suspect in some Dev environment.

So if you were able to do so, when can Deezer subscribers see this live?

What is stopping you from rolling out an update to stream FLAC via HEOS app to Denon / Marantz streamers and amplifiers?

Thanks & BR

Alex

Hi there, I’m using a Denon. I also set up a deezer Hifi account to be able to use it with the Heos App. But as so many others here, I wondered cause of not being able to stream in flac quality.

I really like the diversity on deezer (music + podcasts) but without having the flac streaming option it is kind of useless to me.

I personally do not want to connect my cellphone with my denon with Airplay. If I do so, I will risk disconnection while I’m juming around my house/garden.

Kindly fix these Heos flac issue, or I need to stay with an other service in the future.

What is the actual expectation to get this HEOS issue solved by your developer team? There must be a project plan otherwise, I’m sorry to say, all the kind deezer support words here are just to satisfy us customer for some more days.

Hand on heart, it is time for no excuses!

Hi Thomas, thanks for your feedback. Many users request the same and we'll keep passing this feedback on to the right team, however, Deezer doesn't develop Heos apps and we can't confirm when they will implement it. This isn't really an issue to be fixed, it's something that we really want, but we don't have an estimated time yet. I agree that air playing isn't ideal and we'll keep passing all feedback internally and to Heos. We'll post here as soon as we have any more news about it!

I recently have the Marantz PM7000N with heos and i wanted to stream cd quality flac files but deezer only does 320 mp3, when are we able to stream flac in higher resolution than MP3 is there news to tell or still nothing. I was glad that for reasonable price i could stream flac files but i still cant

greetings maurice

I don’t want to sound pessimistic and i am hoping for this feature to come as soon as possible, but if you consider that this thread is over a year old and still no HiFi on HEOS… It’s like waiting for a miracle :)  till then we are stuck at 320 kbps on HEOS

Thank you for your honest feedback @Richard Newbold we're still working to get HiFi streaming via the HEOS app. I think you honestly looked into all the options available in order to avoid the PC connection. We'll keep this topic updated :v_tone2:

Thanks Kevin

I can’t figure how to stream Deezer from Android to Marantz directly. As everyone has mentioned HEOS only streams Deezer at 320kbs. Marantz doesn’t seem to work with Chromecast and Deezer doesn’t have a DNLA function.

The only workaround I can see is Alexa but this doesn’t give access to playlists, you can get albums and flow to work. Not too keen to use a PC, have a 500gb phone to use as a server which is far handier.

Any alternative ideas welcome?

Kind Regards

Richard

Hello @Richard Newbold, he meant streaming from a computer or a mobile connected to the Marantz, in your case

Thanks for the example @Nodi77 :thumbsup_tone2:

@lukkov if you're going to play via the HEOS app, at the moment this won't be streaming in FLAC. Our team of developers is currently looking into this.

But if you're streaming from a desktop PC/Mac via app or web, or our mobile app, connected to your HEOS, you'll be able to stream to the device in FLAC (HiFi) :v_tone2:

Hi Rudi,

I’m in the same boat as the rest here. Using a Marantz ND8006 to stream. So looking for a decent CD quality service after 5 years with Spotify. What exactly do you mean by the statement below? It sounds like you’re saying we can use the mobile Deezer app as the FLAC input to HEOS? If so that would be great, I really can’t figure out how to do it though?

Kind Regards

Richard

Sorry to hear that @Docock please subscribe to this topic so that you get notifications on future updates :v_tone2:

Too bad, I too subscribed to Deezer to take advantage of HIFI on the Marantz HEOS app. I will cancel my subscription and continue to use Prime Music until there is no news. :(

Hello @screaminbug, we don’t have an ETA yet unfortunately, Rudi and I are doing our best so that your expectations are met, and we won’t give up on this until we have concrete information to share with you all. I do however understand your doubts vis-à-vis this being solved in a timely fashion. Keep an eye on this thread for future announcements. I also forwarded your feedback to the teams.

Have a nice weekend

I read this entire thread in one go, because I also made a mistake of upgrading to the HiFi subscription only to find it doesn’t work with HEOS. I was already subscribed with Premium for some time now, and the only reason I’ve upgraded was to be able to stream to my new Denon AVR. But as I’m not very keen to waste my money, I’m considering to cancel the subscription altogether and switch to some other service.

That being said, if this issue is now no longer buried somewhere in backlog as some “nice to have” feature that will never see the light of day (i know how that works :) ) but instead is now actively being worked on by the dev team that’s great news and I’m willing to wait a bit.

So if that’s the case @Rudi that means that you must have some ETA now.

I understand that development, testing and deployment is a process that takes time, but if it’s already (sic!) in development there must be some deadline set. Are you able to share it with us? If there is no deadline, please don’t take it against me if I stay suspicious that anything is actually happening on that front.

Hi there @Giovanni Stoto

Thanks for sharing your comments with us. We're looking into HiFi streaming via the HEOS app, our devs are working on this. Please see my reply above for more info :v_tone2:

I have a Deezer HiFi plan: I switched from TIDAL to DEEZER thanks to the lower price and because Deezer supportrs Google Home. Yet although advertised as comptible, Deezer HiFi is not working through HEOS on my Marantz amplifier: all I get in Mp3.

So either Deezer is lying or my setup is wrong: is there a solution or do I need to go back to TIDAL?

As I am not familiar with the HEOS system, is there a way to find out the amount of transferred megabytes per song maybe? That way you could at least make an educated guess if a song is in MP3 at 320kbps or in FLAC with at least 2-3 times the size (depending on its content).

Hi. I tried to stream the same song with Deezer HiFi and Tidal HiFi on my Denon AVR X4500 via HEOS App. The info panel in the HEOS App shows just MP3 320 kbps streaming with Deezer, but when streaming with Tidal it shows FLAC 44.1 kHz / 16 bit.

I also checked the transfer rate on my router while streaming. It's not accurate, but you can clearly see the difference between Deezer and Tidal.

Hello guys, I am sorry but I need clarification :/ I am trying to assemble my first hifi setup (which is by itself very confusing for me, I had no idea it would be like that :D) and I thought I had finally put together a list of components until I came across this post. My list includes DENON RCD-N10:

https://usa.denon.com/en-us/shop/denonna-mini/ceoln10_d

And I really love Deezer, now I am on premium subscription but I planed to upgrade to hifi after my setup is complete. So, my question is what are my options for streaming hifi music from my pc and my phone(I am using Samsung S10 if that is relevant) on this receiver? To be precise, what should I do in order to stream hifi records from my phone and pc on this receiver using Deezer, do I need some app, do I need wired connection to my pc etc.? Or should I go with some other receiver maybe? I hope my question is not too stupid and I am really not in music tech so I would really appreciate your help :)

Have a nice day and I hope someone finds the time to answer me :)
