Deezer does not work via Chromecast

I am still encountering this issue more than a month later. I’m going to try to request  refund for the past month of poor service, and will continue to do so until the functionality is restored. 

Let us all know how you make out with this. I get that bugs happen from time to time but when one of your defining features is HiFi music yet you support very few devices, losing support for the devices customers rely on most should absolutely be a priority.

My personal view is that this is not a technical error, but that Deezer and Google have not agreed on the finances and have therefore prevented Google Deezer from continuing to use it. Therefore we have no information, Deezer does not disclose these internal issues. The technical fault would have been fixed long ago.

This is an issue with the earlier generation of Chromecast used in some streamers/receivers. Other Chromecast devices (e.g. Chromecast Audio, Ultra) still work. I think its a simple case of needing to fix it or regress their code, or tell us why they can’t fix it so we can decide what to do. I would hope that some significant resource has been allocated as its a bit of a deal breaker for those with affected equipment.

I have a Chromecast Audio dongle. Neither it nor my Google Chromecast dongle work. My Google TVs both work.

Yesterday I had a surprise. A deezer email said me that from April I will have to pay more for my family subscription. This for to have hi fi quality.

ahahah…where do I have to listen this hi fi quality? On my phone? On my tablet? 
I think that it’s possible to listen hi fi quality only on hi fi or speakers. But NOW my speaker doesn’t work with Deezer. Why I have to pay more?

I hope no. I think that legal issues between Google and Sonos caused this situation and Deezer that had bad Chromecast integration it been have these problems

I ran out of patience and made the switch to Tidal. I love enjoying my Hi-Fi system and this bug made that impossible. So unfortunate, especially because I like the search engine and interface of Deezer more than Tidal.

I hope Deezer will get it right soon. For now I am happy to enjoy my music again, but I am very disappointed in Deezer.

It's exactly the same for me. I liked Deezer but the lack of listening to hifi via Chromecast forced me to look for an alternative. I'm at Tidal now, and it has many advantages over Deezer. For me, the biggest advantages are these

1.Relative to Deezer are the correct years of release of individual albums and that of the original and remastered version

2.Labels

3.More information about tracks (producer names etc)

4.Information about albums

5.Possibility of forming a queue via Chromecast (not working at Deezer)

6.After playing the chosen album or playlist, something else will not start playing but it will shut down.

7.Folders at Playlist

What makes Deezer better is the overall clarity,

I know that also Google have some problems with Googlecast protocol.

I suggest you to open a support request also to Google.

I’m also unable to use Deezer with Chromecast. I have a first generation Chromecast stick connected to my AVR and it works just fine with all other streaming services (Netflix, Youtube, Spotify, ...). When I try to cast from the Android Deezer app, the Chromecast display goes black for about 1 minute and then returns to the idle screen. The music doesn’t even start at any point during this time. I was hoping to replace Spotify with Deezer to get better streaming quality but if I can’t cast to my sound system one way or another I will have to cancel my Deezer subscription.

Do you open a request to Deezer support?

Why make the advertised features work when you can have an update to celebrate international Women’s day and just keep focusing on empty marketing?!? :clap: to Deezer. I suspect they do not even have a product reliability team.

Today, it's exactly one month that doesn't work steaming via Chromecast. No information on the situation, what happened, why ,when the service will be fully operational again. nothing Just empty platitudes that the situation is known. I subscribed until the end of May and it's no use to me.

Same problem here. Since around 3 weeks, I can no longer cast to my NAD C338 amplifier with built-in Chromecast. All my other apps are still working (tunein, repaio, spotify (free)). Even the Deezer test during the setting up of my  NAD C338 via Google Home assistant works! But once everything is setup, I simply cannot cast from the Deezer App anymore (where I am logged in with my paid account).
I tried all possible tricks that I found on the internet (factory reset of my NAD, empty cache and data of my Deezer App, restart my phone, reinstall the Deezer app...) None worked. 

The current poor workaround is to start the Deezer App on my phone and then cast the audio to my NAD amp via Google Home. This means that the audio is streamed from my Phone to the Chromecast, instead of Chromecast streaming the audio directly from the Deezer server on the cloud (with the max quality).  My phone is no longer used as a remote control; if I stop it, the audio stops. Listening to music means draining out my phone battery... 

I know that this is nothing really new compared to all the posts above, but I thought the Deezer developers should know that more people are affected and that it is really frustrating to find this bug the hard way (a little notification in the App would have been much appreciated as I was close to return my NAD amplifier for repair...)

I understand that there may be a technical problem, that is quite normal but I do not understand that it has been going on for more than 3 weeks, we are not informed what actually happened, why did it happen and when will the problem be resolved? Connectivity through Chromecast is absolutely essential for demanding users due to the lossless transfer of hifi quality. This is all the more important in the absence of Deezer Connect. Resolving this issue quickly should be a top priority, as Deezer has been missing one of its core features for more than 3 weeks. It can also confuse new users. I'm really disappointed.

I use the following solution get the Google home and register your speakers through Bluetooth. Cancel then Bluetooth from home and mirror the output using chromecast from Google home.

I have already contacted for refund. They promised me a refund. But i paied like every month.

But this is not the real problem. I think that they introduced a bug in the platform. And they they could have done a rollback. We had immediately open an issue on this feature

This evening I also had the certainty that there is another bug in the platform! I ask to google assistant “play music on th soundbar (jbl multi beam) from Deezer. And google answer me: “there is a problem”.

I ask the same thing with spotify, and i did not have any problems


I don't want to leave Deezer, but for me the chromecast feature is too much important. 
At this moment i'm only migrating my deezer "database" on Spotify. But, if they don't resolve quickly, i will be forced to switch off deezer. I can't pay two services for too much time

I check my email and I saw that you  took my money, but, your service still not work!

Try contacting Deezer support for a refund. While their development team is at best understaffed and IMO misguided in their focus to bring new features to the platform before dealing with basic usability issues, I've found their business staff to be pretty responsive to concerns.
