Chromecast from Deezer Desktop (Win10)

Reading back through all the comments from three years and see a lot of “soon” and “Thanks for patience” but it does appear the feature is never coming to desktop.

@Rudi please make it noted that this will be the reason I’ll leave the service, it's low priority for you but it's a key feature for people who don’t want to listen to their music (at HIFI quality) on laptop speakers.

Hey @davepe

Thanks for sharing your honest feedback with us and registering your support for this feature.

I'll be passing your feedback on, hopefully we can either work with a native app or improve our casting options in the near future :thumbsup_tone2:

We get you @Gates Bradley thanks for the very honest feedback. This is something we want to do too, as we have a pipeline of desktop improvements to make. But for the same reasons, we still need more time to get there. Subscribe to this topic so that you can be up-to-date with our progress :v_tone2:

I’ve been loving Deezer, but am truly disappointed by the lack of Chromecast on my desktop app. I was planning to replace Spotify with it, but this is a gamechanger. You mention priorities, but this just feels as though you aren’t interested in a large part of your community.

I just migrated to Deezer from Spotify, obviously without testing long enough.

And I find that there is no way to cast to a chromecast audio using the desktop app. Although this thread has been going on for at least three years? I mean seriously??? Three years?

And the company’s response is that “they hope that Chromecast could be added very soon”?

No, @Alfredo. WE, the customers, hope that it could be added very soon. Your job is not to “hope”, it is to make sure it DOES exist asap.

How on earth did I miss this issue BEFORE I signed up with Deezer??????? I feel so stupid and angry now.

Hey @rruss

Thank you for your support and for your patience.

We've just released our new Chromecast integration - have a go and let us know how it works.

About FireTV, we'll be checking this and back to the community once we have more news :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi Rudi, I can’t find Chromecast option in desktop app (Windows & macOS).

Using the cast functionality from Google Chrome should be avoided if you want to enjoy your music. It has the browser decoding your music and sending that to the chromecast. Quality is bad and it will skip whenever your computer is doing some heavy work. I still don't see the chromecast icon in the windows app.

@Rudi forgot to tag you in previous reply.

For what it’s worth, the Deezer web player shows the Chromecast icon in the playbar at the bottom for me in MS Edge, but not in the Deezer desktop app. I don’t know if it really works, as I don’t have a Chromecast device, but the icon is there.

October 2020 and still no chromecast option in desktop app for Windows 10. Do you have any timeline when this will be sorted out?

Cannot find chromecast button on Deezer app on my PC windows 10. Only on deezer web player. Is that right or hav I missed something?

Allo ?

Hi @hnadj thank you for contacting us. Could you please make sure that your computer or laptop and your Chromecast device are connected to the same Wifi, that your Chromecast is up-to-date and that you have the Deezer Desktop Version 4.18.50?

Please let us know if you still can’t see the Chromecast symbol then. Thank you.

Hey @Avaugoux

Thank you for your support and for your patience,

We hope that Chromecast could be add very soon to the desktop app, it is in fact a must have feature,

In the meantime, as it has been mentioned on this thread, you can use the web player that has already the Chromecast feature integrated,

Thanks :)

Hi there 🙂 It's going to be implemented soon 🙂 We're already testing it and it should be available with one of the next updates 🙂

August 2018 - July 2020: Still waiting… Now I know what Deezer means with “soon”  :frowning2:

Up to a couple of weeks ago, I was able to cast Deezer from Chrome. This no longer works; I have to use Edge to cast from the browser. The downside of this is that the track title no longer shows on the TV screen. Also, no evidence of Cast being supported in the Windows 10 Desktop app. Poor show?

Any updates? It’s been four years!

Your feedback will be duly forwarded @MCMulder thank you for your input :v_tone2:

Another ex Spotify Premium user here.

+1 at missing this feature.

Using the web player workaround at the moment but I don’t like to have Deezer in a tab of a browser as I normally use 3 different browsing profiles because of work, so I quite often get lost with so many tabs.

Hello,

No news ? The desktop app seems to be completly dead no ?

I too do not have the option to stream to chromecast from chrome (newest build, on ubuntu).

Works fine on all other services I currently have access to.

Just wanted to chime in and say that for me, too, this feature will decide whether deezer will be my service of choice (disgruntled gpm user as many others) or I have to move somewhere else.

Thank you for your feedback and apologies for the limitations @Jmattwood @Michael.O'Donnell we still haven't added the support for the new Chromecast integration to our desktop app but it's on the plans.

About Chrome, a few other users reported the same, so we're looking into that. In the meantime, can you update your Chrome version and restart your computer? Keep us posted and with the help of your feedback we'll improve this part of our service :v_tone2:
