Hey @J13 @Alex Mandrik

Sorry to hear that.

The trouble here is that it can be caused by different reasons. Have you tried changing the audio quality settings to see if it helps?

Hello @Crumeltje you should only need to do the steps mentioned once, not several times

  1. Could you please double-check whether every single family member is only using their own profile?
  2. On which device are you having the problem that songs are skipped?
  3. Does the problem happen with all songs or just some?

Thank you

Hi @Pia.Deezer ,

I know I'm supposed to only do this once, but last time I did these steps the first song that was affected appeared within one week again. The solution is not permanent for me although it does help temporarily. That's why I have to do it more often.

1. Only me, my boyfriend and my dogs (for when they are home alone) have a profile within family membership. There is one phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) on which we sometimes switch between the profiles because we want to choose between playlists on those different profiles. On that phone the songs are not downloaded as we only use it at home for music. The playlists are not used simultaneously, except when we want to switch source. Then we purposely make the other one stop playing music by starting it on an other source.

2. The problem has occurred on Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S8 and coincidentally today it also happened on a Huawei P10 Lite. I'm not sure if songs were downloaded on the S4 when the problem occurred, but on the S8 and P10 Lite they are downloaded.

3. Not all songs are affected, but the amount of songs affected increases with time. It seems random which songs are getting affected.

Hello @ajdin91, please follow the troubleshooting described in this diagram. Each step is important as well as the order

Hey @Heidi and John

Sorry about your experience. We can surely help you.

Is this happening to the same tracks? Have you tried restarting your internet router?

Please post the link for the songs, it could be something on them directly and we can certainly fix :thumbsup_tone2:

Also having the same issue,,  high BIT ERROR on random songs,,   Im ready to cancel and switch to Spotify,,  I heard good things about Deezer but the support is basically go to the forms and fix it your self.   1 week and im canceling.

Hi there @panuci

Thank you for your feedback. Could I please have a link for the track you mentioned? Could you please try to install the latest version of the app?

Reviving this thread, because it’s 2024 and I’ve been having this issue NONSTOP and it’s SO annoying.

  • the skipping issue happens on Desktop (Win11, Mozilla Firefox); it doesnt happen on the phone app
  • the skipping-like-a-CD happens at the begining of certain tracks, and always the same tracks
  • it’s usually tracks I’ve uploaded myself,(and unfortunately, I’m forced to upload a lot of stuff because they are tracks not hosted by Deezer, and often, by no streaming services at all, so you can see my problem here)
  • HOWEVER, it also does happen on Deezer-native tracks

  • I’ve already performed all the steps suggested here (logging out, clearing cache, uninstalling Mozilla Firefox, testing other browsers, testing the desktop Deezer app) - I had to do all of that because I’ve had ANOTHER, unrelated issue on Deezer desktop recently (album pages weren’t loading; the UI seemed a little bugged too, with the playlists on the left side weren’t loading). I asked for support on Deezer for this other issue, and they were unable to fix it, the issue went away “magically” after a few more days
  • I also complained about the skipping like a CD glitch, but it wasn’t solved

So yeah, as you can see I’m running out of creativity to deal with the skipping issue. The one and only thing that “”solves”” it is restarting the track, which is not a good “solution” at all even more when it’s a bunch of tracks doing that.

I am having the same issue on many devices (Sonos, control4 controller, phones IPads) same songs. Not sure what to do have made a lot of play lists do not want to change platforms but can’t listen to the music this way

hey there, i have many Control4 systems using Deezer that suffers what seems to be buffering issues. this is consistant on multiple control4 systems, running different OS versions, on different networks and internet speeds all with the latest Deezer driver. all other streaming services work fine (Tidal, Spotify and Tunein as examples) all Control4 settings have been checked but still the problem remains. I cant say I’ve seen similar issues on other streaming products (Heos and B&W Formation tested) any thoughts or suggestions, Control4 has not yet been able to come up with a solution for this.

Hey @Celtic Botan I am sorry to hear that.
Could you please share a video reproducing the problem, either with mp3 uploads and native tracks in order to pass the feedback to our devs and investigate?
Thanks

Hello @Crumeltje  thank you for the detailed explanation. Ahaha I’m intrigued to know what dogs like to listen to because - I have two at home. Thank you for making sure there is only one device playing music in each profile.

Sorry, in that case, I need to ask more questions.

  1. Does this problem only happen with downloads or also when you are online?
  2. The title of this thread is Song skipping like a scratched cd - when do the songs skip? In the middle of a song or at the end?
  3. Are you sure that ALL Songs were downloaded onto every single device individually?
  4. Were the songs downloaded while mobile data was switched off, strong Wifi was used and waited until the download process was finished?

Thank you so much for all your replies - we are sure we can fix this problem

I am so tired of this app. I am on the family version and there is just constant bugs. Sometimes it says requested song can't play, sometimes it plays but skips like a broken CD. Sometimes it's unable to add favorites. I have cleared cache etc and it works for a while. I think it may be time to get Spotify again if they can't come up with a fix properly.

Hi there @Crumeltje @Razorblade @Desert Family

Sorry that's happened. Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card (if applicable)
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card (if applicable)

Let me know how it goes :thumbsup_tone2:

I have a Galaxy S9 and I have started experiencing the same issue about a month ago. Same predicament in that it was here and there and then more frequent. Really a drag when entertaining a small group via bluetooth device. I have been a deezer user/subscriber for almost 3 years now and have been trouble free until now. Hopefully this can be resolved sooner rather than later.

Hi there @concretestiletto @André Flores

Sorry that's happening. Could you please tell me which tracks are being affected by this? It could be a problem with the tracks, rather than the app. If it's happening with random tracks, please let me know as well :thumbsup_tone2:

Hmmm I heard this today too on iOS just for a couple of songs in Flow (but they were crappy generic songs it plays once in a while so just skipped). Will try to save any I hear to post here. Only 2 songs so far.

It's some of my very favorite songs affected.  I'm a big fan of David Garret and all of his songs from the album called Music were affected(demolished) as well as a few individual tracks.  I reloaded and they were fine for one day.   It's really frustrating to always have to skip songs I know I really enjoy.

Hello @ajdin91, please follow the troubleshooting described in this diagram. Each step is important as well as the order

come up with a different solution than that !

Hi there @Spill1e @renee.howard @panuci

Sorry that's happening. In what quality are your audio settings on? In order to check this, please go to the app's settings and then audio quality (not on WiFi). Changing this setting may give us more clues about what's going on.

@panuci your track example plays fine on my side (desktop). So please try changing the audio settings to see if it makes a difference.

Also, could you all let me know what version of the app you've got installed?

I have the same problem, and it's becomming worse. More and more songs start skipping

Thanks for reporting it @Krokun - I've included your details to the report for this. It's something we're looking into for quite some time but it's difficult to reproduce. Have you tried unpairing and pairing them again?

Hello @Warren Husband do you get this error/buffering messages in the Control4 screen or in the Control4 app with Deezer in your phone? In any of the cases, could you please provide a screenshot with the problem.
Thanks

Hi Jaime

Thanks for the reply, there are no error messages on the Control4 system, only audio drop outs (typically buffering problems) when streaming Deezer through Control4. Playback from my phone works perfectly. This doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be a pain... thanks again for you assistance

@Warren Husband I am not sure this troubleshooting will help but it worth trying:
Here's what you can do:

  • Log out of Deezer on all devices it might be logged in
  • Get a new password for the Deezer account linked to the sound system via this link
  • Delete Deezer from the Control4 app
  • Turn off your sound system device for 1-2 minutes
  • Turn it back on
  • Add Deezer to the Control4 app
  • Login with your new Deezer password

Hi @Darlig! Sorry about it. Please try to do that and if still have issues, please send me the link of the album/track with the problem and the the Deezer app version and the Operative System on your phone? 🕵🏽

Take care.

I'm having the same problem. Been having it for months now. I've tried doing all of those steps mentioned and nothing seems to help. I have an S8+ now but also had the same problems on my S7. Getting entirely fed up with paying out for scratched CD's!
