Scrobble Last.fm from Deezer not working

I guess I was just irritated by the missing icons for the three dot dropdown menu, Quote and Like in Opera which only show empty placeholders for the images. I just checked with MS Edge, and they are there, so maybe only an Opera/Chrome problem. Also I can edit my own postings with Opera again, so no big deal.

And yes, scrobbling worked for me again as well today.

Keep us posted, guys. @bluezzbastardzz what happened in the forum? I've checked it this afternoon and everything seems to be normal. Could you please send me a link or screenshot? Feel free to post it in the superusers forum.

These late scrobbles have the current date and time though, as if I have just heard them.

And something is wrong with this forum again, no Edit option for postings anymore, and missing icons, too.

I think it started on Wednesday by missing out a few scrobbles and then got worse each day, so probably there is a backlog of "cached" scrobbles somewhere on the Deezer servers which gets overloaded and needs hours to days to fill the gap. For example I just got some old Deezer scrobbles on my Last.fm profile that I have heard yesterday.

Hi! I use deezer in my Google Chrome for Windows 10 (64 bit) and I also use deezer on my iPhone SE iOS 12.3.1. In both variants the scrobbling is not working.

I'm running iOS 12.3.1 on iPhone X and the app version is 7.11.0 (June 11th update). I haven’t received any error message, what’s happening is that the scrobbles are appearing with a very long delay. For example, 6 hours ago appeared a scrobble of a song that I heard on Wednesday, and it’s taking a long time for them to be exhibited. I have a lot of missing scrobbles of the songs that I heard on Wednesday, yesterday and today. Fix it, please.

It is possible to link your Deezer account to your Scrobble Last FM account from a computer/laptop using this link:

You should see the Scrobble as the option on the right.



I have my accounts on Lastfm and Deezer linked, but songs that i have listened on Deezer isn't showing on Lastfm.

While it has not stopped scrobbling for me, there are major delays (up to a couple of days, seemingly).

Bandcamp scrobbling works fine, so I am assuming it is down to Deezer, rather than last.fm.

Could you give us a status report? When can we expect a fix for this?

Well, "intended" probably is the wrong word, because it looks like the Deezer API does not offer the option to read the currently playing track (please someone correct me if that is wrong). So the internal Deezer scrobbling cannot display the "Scrobbling now" track on your Last.fm user profile which would also need a different Last.fm API request than the one for scrobbling.

The browser extension Web Scrobbler can do this, but then you would have to use the Deezer web player exclusively which e.g. means no FLAC streaming if you have a HiFi account. So I prefer the internal Deezer scrobbling with the desktop app and correct the mistakes afterwards with the new Last.fm feature of bulk editing the scrobbles in your library.

Last but not least the Mentor.fm online tool uses Deezer as its playback source, and it also displays the currently playing track in its GUI (not for scrobbling), but I don't know how this works if the Deezer API does not offer it.

By the way, while this thread is one year old and has almost 19k views, there also is a similar idea with "only" 3.5k views and 95 votes, so maybe these two should be merged or at least more interested people should vote on the idea.

Deezer's scrobbling implementation is still one of the poorest I've seen, severely limited. No real-time scrobbling, then artists with ampersand in their names are not scrobbled properly, albums and song names with parentheses are not scrobbled correctly, etc. Using Deezer with their built-in scrobbling implementation will sooner or later mess up your last.fm library.

Third party solutions are still the best:
  1. Deezer web player + Web Scrobler browser extension works perfectly
  2. Mobile app + Scroball app are a clean and elegant way to scrobble

I have a small issue with scrobbling. I've linked my lastfm account, the scrobbling does work, but it doesn't work in real time — the scrobble displays on lastfm only when I finish listening to a certain song.

Can I fix it somehow? Thanks in advance.

@Rudi while listening to my downloaded songs, but when I am not connected to the internet. They do not show up immediately after connecting again, but several hours later or not at all.
