The song that impacted you the most -THE THREAD 🔉
It looks like the “Featured in” section is back on the desktop version but it just contains the artists albums, not the compilations they are part of….I guess it’s a work in progress 🙄
@Jaime. please make sure NOT to restore the "More albums" section. As @Marcormark explained above, it was a complete mess, and I fully agree. You were hiding OFFICIAL albums delivered by labels and distributors under the "Featured In" section. All albums from the "More albums" category should be placed in the Albums, EPs, or Singles sections. I hope it will be done properly when you finish the “update”. I can’t say I noticed the “More albums” issue, but it sounds messy. The main thing that should be in the “Featured In” section are the various artist albums that a particular artist appears on. Happy to hear they are at least working on it.
Let’s compare the difference between how Deezer and Spotify do it. Here is the difference between the profile page for a band called The Dentists: Spotify has 4 official band albums and 8 “appears on” albums. Deezer has the same 4 band albums - and that’s it! (I know most/all those compilations are also available on Deezer but don’t show up in the bands’ profile). This needs to change.
And to make matters worse, they are phasing out their Free plan in many countries. How can they ask to pay for a subscription when a core feature of their music catalog has not been working for so many weeks now? I submitted a Deezer support ticket over a month ago, but it did not help. 😖 The Free plan has been mostly phased out where I am already - only available on desktop versions now. One of Deezer’s selling points is the size of the catalog - but if you can’t find some of it then what’s the point? How do you submit a support ticket?
“Mixes inspired by...” is VERY uneven. I did a test today and played a mix inspired by 80’s indie pop band The Field Mice and the first three songs played were all generic French pop songs not at all in the same style or from the same era as The Field Mice. Then I tried a mix inspired by a band called Smokescreens - they are sort of a modern version of The Field Mice (indie, jangle pop). It was a mix of just one Smokescreens album! The next two mixes I tried worked just fine. I much prefer Spotify’s “Recommended Radio” where you can launch a mix from any band’s profile based on their genre/style. I just noticed that there is now a “mix” option on some artists pages - this is new (to me) - but will test it out and see how it goes.
I can’t believe this hasn’t been flagged or addressed in any way. Isn’t the whole point of these services to provide easy access to a lot of music? I guess in Deezer’s case it’s only if you are lucky enough to find it? This is enough of a glitch to make me switch streaming services.
I am not the artist, but the band Massage has three releases all linked to a generic “artist” (also Massage) that is music for getting a massage, I guess...anyway, they should have their own artist page. Their three albums are:https://deezer.page.link/DVEzaBR5PSPXxxts9https://deezer.page.link/XaK6wyjK55o5k1Jb6https://deezer.page.link/qv4GeP1Ry7aVp24y7 I report this every time I listen but it hasn’t changed yet. Am I even reporting this in the right place?
I’m just having the issue on the desktop version
Yeah, I guess I do 😉 but it’s still weird that an AD would cause this to happen.
