You can do this on an app basis.right-clic on the app, select open in the contextual menu and voilà. I don’t know why Deezer still has this issue after so many months…a brand new app (and website) are coming sometimes.
Full proper AirPlay 2 support (including « instant streaming »), ideally on both iOS app and macOS app that would make for Chromecast and Deezer connect in your list. Native desktop app on Apple Silicon
Hi @Jaime. Will the next release be the big reworked app that was announced more than a year ago (there: see below)? We haven’t heard of it anymore.
It would have been expected in a major release. Version 10 milestone and not AirPlay 2 in sight. I can live with the new design but best-in-class streaming experience with speakers should be a no brainer for a music app.
Hi @BigFKahuna I have never read anything like this about airplay 2. The specs state that it takes the very sound file in the buffer in various format, bitrate and sampling… and thus can do better that CD quality. But I am interested to read otherwise.
Hi @BigFKahuna,Got to read your article. That’s interesting. But as far as I understand, AirPlay 2 is really supposed to support all formats without transcoding (either upsampling or downsampling), as exposed by Apple during WWDC when it was released. However, I don’t know what is refraining Music apps to use it properly (legal issues? technical issues?). During the last WWDC, it appears that Apple had updated the way it can deal with third party DRM.
Hi @Yula,Was the new design the “big rework of our webversion and desktop app” you told us about a year ago?As far as we can tell, nothing seems to have changed under the hood… can you tell us whether technical changes are up to come?Best,
Yes, I did got your point. It would be interesting to have further insights from Deezer. I agree that there is no sense in having AirPlay 2 if there is a trade off in audio quality.
Does it hint to a native macOS app?
What’s your macOS version?
Despite all its shortcomings, my desktop Deezer app has always updated itself on macOS for years.Did you copy the app from the vitual disk to your “applications” folder? Is it run from a user session with admin rights?Best,
