Hey @Alexey Kapitansky

Thanks for the honest feedback.

Have you tried the app downloaded directly from us, instead of the store? A fresh install could help you check if the performance is better.

Hey @Peter5411 @Alblinux

Part of our big focus for 2021 is to improve our desktop app a lot. Please bear with us, we know it hasn't been as smooth as it should be :pray_tone2:

Yes, I did. App from MS Store (v5.30.30.0) was leaking and crashing several times per working day. Updated to v.5.30.50.0 a day ago, but haven’t used it enough yet. Will return with feedback.

I can confirm that I too have this issue when listening to Flow and have had for quite some time. It happens on both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows 10. I usually use Firefox on Linux and either Chrome or  Edge on the Windows machine so it doesn’t appear to be related to a specific browser.

Performance-wise there's a long road to go @bytesnz, that makes sense.

This feedback is always important - could you please confirm you're on version 4.32?

Please do @bytesnz it'll be interesting to compare Deezer's performance between browsers :thumbsup_tone2:

It could be connected to Flow @Alexey Kapitansky that's great feedback! Thank you!

Recently, there is a memory leak when using the player in the browser. After closing the tab with the player, the memory returns.
OS: Debian 8.8 amd64 / 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.51-3 (2017-12-13) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Browser: Firefox Quantum 59.0.2 (64-bit)

All answers from the Deezer Stuff show that no one of them read all comments.
It’s not a problem of Ubuntu or linux. Same problem exist with windows.
There ist problem with deezer in any browser on WIndwos and Linux!

Hi there, we don't support Linux on the web version, so I'm unable to offer much help, maybe someone else will have some input. In the meantime, there's a topic on our ideas forum about Linux support, make sure you vote for it to be implemented and join the conversation - https://en.deezercommunity.com/ideas/321

Hey @bytesnz

Our devs got back to me on this, they say huge thanks to you for reporting it!

They've been working on the leak for quite some time now, there are a couple of solutions in mind, hopefully that can be implemented during the first half of this year.

Great work, please be in touch, I'll get your comments across to them :relaxed:

5GB leak in about:memory in firefox on linux as well. I wonder what will stop first the leak or my trial..

@Alblinux I took care of it.

Thanks for the precise feedback @j94, we’ll forward it to the dev team. I’m sorry we didn’t have the time to take a closer look to this issue so far.

Thanks for reviewing this in detail @Richard B. Kreckel our devs are aware so I just added the specs of the browsers you mentioned, for a complete report on this :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks for the feedback @Alessandro Massignan

For Linux, we're working on an Electron app to facilitate the Deezer experience for more users. Stay tuned for updates! :relaxed:

No! If you’ll develop Electron App for Linux, you’ll use it on Windows too :( Electron framework is slow piece of shit eating for all resources. I hopped for UWP/PWA…

You changed me to the blue mood.

Hallelujah!

What are Deezer’s plans to fix this clear cross-platform and cross-browser memory leak? Would it, please, be possible to keep the community posted?

This issue has been reported more than two years ago. Unfortunately, no fix has appeared since then. Is it impossible to fix this? Some users need to choose between upgrading RAM significantly or switching to another service! But most users are probably in the dark about why their machine behaves badly (web browser freezes, crashes). A native client has been proposed repeatedly. But remember that a native client may not solve this for everybody -  the most portable thing is and remains a web service.

Hey @bandithedoge @vinRocha

The plans are to improve our player across all apps this year, so we should see an improvement of the performance of our desktop app :relaxed: please hang in there and stay tuned to our community for updates, it'll be worth it!

Happy New Year!
