Hi all,

just updated to the latest Deezer Version. It claims to introduce specific areas for podcasts in Android Auto.

Sadly none of the folders show anything in offline mode. As a result Deezer is still useless for me while driving.

In contrast when using the app in offline mode all (!!!) albums are shown - not only the ones which are downloaded. In offline mode I prefer to see only offline content.

Hope this helps

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue
so the 'fix' suggested here does work for  offline mode, however when I start a playlist AA/Deezer only seems tot cycle through the first 8-10 songs and then stops playback. What's up with that?

@Jonathan Best thanks for the insight.
We will investigate on this problem (downloaded album and playlist not appearing in offline mode in Android auto).

As for browsing albums based on artist, it seems more like a new feature proposition. Could you post it in the "Got an idea" section? (https://en.deezercommunity.com/got-an-idea-9).

Thanks again for your help and keep us posted if you find anything else.

Have same issue.

Some temporary solution:
In offline mode, on phone navigate to downloaded albums, playlist. Green dot will appear beside downloaded albums, playlists. Dont clear Deezer from memory, Android auto will see downloaded albums and playlist. If you clear Deezer from memory you will need to navigate to downloaded playlist again.

Hey @paco62@Luis Paiva@Brad Johns

I've updated our devs with the information you've given me - thank you. Hopefully they'll look into it soon enough. In the meantime, could you try @Julius3 workaround to see if it helps?

Hi all,

since Deezer failed to work with Android Auto in offline mode It also failed at home to connect properly with Chromecast Audio for the last few days.
It shows all Chromecast devices and connects properly. But the content loads “forever” telling me that it is completed soon. I tried all tips and restarted everything - included the router - with no success. Other apps work well - so I knew my network and devices are OK in principle.

Today I found the reason: I forgot to switch Deezer app back to online. No hint is shown to remind me of that fact. Instead Chromecast behaves as if its online - but finally does not work.

Please fix this.

This is still a problem. Can Deezer explain why it's not fixed yet? Really frustrating and annoying. Android Auto interface is really very poor

Thanks for reporting it @Siv

We're aware there are a few issues with our Android Auto integration. So we've added improvements to our plans this year - please bear with us in the meantime and always keep your app updated :thumbsup_tone2:

Yep - @Julius3's temporary fix works for me. So basically you open up Deezer and navigate to the downloaded section first before launching Android Auto. But we still need a "real" fix.....
@Rudi Thanks for the attention Rudi, There's a temporary fix, but we need a fix for this problem

Today I turn on the android Auto in the car, and even WITH the connection NOTHING appears to play. Then I have to turn to FM Radio. This is VERY ANNOYING

The problem still persists and has not been resolved. 😕

After 3 years of subscribing to deezer hifi I canceled last night as this and a bevy of other issues aren’t being resolved after years of being acknowledged.

I have tried every located troubleshooting procedure buried in this forum on a multitude of devices from various manufacturers in hopes the issues were simply flukes related to particular hardware, I really wanted this to work.

It is a shame as I generally have come to quite enjoy deezer, however competitors are providing a comparably priced service that seemingly do not come bundled with empty reassurances for future fixes of features that already work correctly on their respective platforms.

Any further update on this?  I’ve choosing different streaming services, I’ve been with Deezer for a number of years due to BMW Online Entertainment but as that service has stopped, I’ve upgraded the car to Android Auto / CarPlay and taken out a subscription direct with Deezer.

This issue with Deezer will make me jump ship from Deezer to another service as has already been said in this forum it makes the offline mode useless with Android Auto.  Thats a shame as I have no issue with Deezer other than this.

It is July 2022 - this issue was reported years ago.  It continues to be a problem.  Deezer downloaded music will not play in Android Auto without a live data connection. (What is the point of a downloading the tracks if you have to have a live internet connection???)

Is there a plan to fix this issue - the only reason I’m a paid subscriber is so I can download music for playback when I’m off line.  This works flawlessly --- until you try to connect your phone to your car.  Then nothing work deezer’s app just sit spinning, or gives the error message that this fuction doesn’t work

When can we expect a solution?

Same problem with my device ( MATE 10) Android OS.OREO 8.0 , deezer versiĂłn 6.0.4.71

The 'helpful' error messages.

  • Which phone do you have? Pixel 2

  • What OS is installed? Android 9
  • What version of our app is installed? Version 6.0.4.71
  • In order to reproduce the problem, could you please tell me the steps needed?
Deezer is in off line mode. Turn on Android Auto (manually or via Sync 3 Car connection), selected Deezer as music source. Then try to select Albums or Playlists. There will be nothing in the list, yet I have downloaded several Albums and Playlists. When I do this on my phone via the Deezer app and not through Android Auto interface, I can play all my downloaded songs. So the issue is accessing Deezer while in Android Auto and then trying to play songs when Deezer is in off line mode. Has never worked since I became Deezer user. Very surprised that you don't get more complaints. Note that with Deezer in on line mode, it does work with Android Auto . Maybe no one uses off line mode in Europe because data rates are so cheap. However, in Canada where data rates are higher and coverage is more spotty, downloading songs and using off line mode makes a lot of sense.
Thanks.. same problem in Mexico, data rates are very expensive, voice data is very cheap, but not data.
Tahnks anyway.

Hi,

I am new and using Deezer Hifi.

Still in Android Auto and Offline there are no albums and playlists.

Hi @reanime2k

as far as I'm aware on your phone if you've set a playlist to be downloaded (and it does download for offline use), at any point when you add a song to that playlist it automatically downloads it (to be added to the others)?
Hi, im new on deezer and I love it, im here just to see if u can update the phone (android) app with a option to make auto download music to you phone when you add a song or album to your library. I use music on workouts everyday and if I hear a ramdon song that I like, I just wanna add to my library and the song is dowloading automatic to have it on perfect quality.

I use the app on xbox and pc too, and is so boring go to cell after add any albums or songs on the other's platform to get it downloaded.

Thanks in advance đŸ€˜đŸ»

I can confirm this issue is still on-going as a Deezer Hi-Fi subscriber (well, soon ex, thanks to this issue and how it’s not apparently handled properly by Deezer).

The Android Auto interface of the Deezer app doesn’t show any downloaded offline content (playlists or albums), when in offline mode. The only remedy is to go briefly online with the phone app and then return offline. That way the Android Auto interface also seems to find/permit the offline content.

The Android Auto implementation of Deezer is really just crap compared to Spotify, which works flawless on Android Auto in terms of offline contents and it recognises my repeat and shuffle settings.

So 2 years and no fix. Check. Okay, I won’t stay around as a paying member any further then. Thankfully I can stick with TIDAL, which doesn’t have this offline issue and I get the source quality of Deezer Hi-Fi.

This would be a nice feature. Safer when driving. And other apps offer this.

my problem is that in offline mode Android auto doesn't show any playlist or songlist on my car screen.

Hi there@Sandro Klostermann

Thank you for reporting. I'll be passing this on to our devs :thumbsup_tone2:

Hello. Any ideas of when this will be fixed?
