Multiple months later, but for the discussion about performance not likely to improve, these are false statements. Performance using Electron will very much improve after Deezer has changed a single configuration line in their package.json file, namely to change the arch value from “x64” to “universal”. It won’t be as good as a native app, but it will at least be decent.
Are the performance issues something Deezer developers are aware of?
The Mac 'app' is a Chromium web browser instance with a bunch of supporting processes wrapped up in an Electron wrapper that looks like a Mac app. Despite appearances there's nothing lite about it. Don't expect it to get any better as long as they use Electron or a similar web wrapper.
A community manager in the past did mention about ‘possible’ development of a M1 version, but it would be interesting to see if this is still a possibility or moved to the back burner (especially with the release shortly of the MacBook Pro & Air M2 versions).

Any update regarding apple silicon port? It is not a big deal for developers but more than 1 year passed from releasing first m1 mac has been rolled out.
Hi @archaic_email@Olh01, I've just received an update from our developers, and they mentioned that they're actively working on a solution for the issue.
However, there are still some milestones to address before it's fully resolved.
Given this, I would like to ask a bit more patience until they can completely resolve the problem.
Actually … I now see that the browser version doesn’t allow for downloading music (makes sense, now that I think it through). So looks like I’ll be sticking with the App.
I'm re-launching this topic: is Deezer still working on an ARM (for Apple Silicon) version of its desktop application? ElectronJS has supported arm64 for years now. I don't understand what's stopping developers from releasing the arm64 version now, even though Spotify already has.
Perhaps you're developing a native Deezer application to improve performance?
@bluezzbastardzz Unfortunately the Deezer desktop app is not available via the Mac App store, only on iOS.
The download links you provided again download an old version 6.0.29 which support have acknowledged as being wrong, and the same on all my Mac computers and different browsers. Not only is this an old version, but it is not even possible to open it.
It’s astonishing that Deezer lacks the ability to sort this out after quite a few days.
Deezer is among the very last Electron app to not have made the switch.
Before it, the following ElectronJS apps succeeded to change one line of configuration and build on arm64 on my laptop :)
Microsoft Teams
Skype
GeoGebra Classic 6
Discord
Visual Studio Code
Windows 95 (the application)
Mattermost
StarUML
VMWare Fusion
Redis Insight V2
Docker Desktop
GeoGebra Graphing Calculator
Hyper
GitHub Desktop
Insomnia
Adobe UXP Developer Tool
GitKraken
Molotov TV
Trello
Diagrams.net
AdGuard for Safari
Slack
Bootstrap Studio
MongoDB Compass
It’s about time! The only ElectronJS apps that did not make the switch are:
Deezer (why?)
Moodle Desktop (Abandoned, uses Moodle Mobile instead)
Unity Hub (Unity itself is Apple Silicon ready)
Neo4j Desktop (the Neo4j Browser is Apple Silicon ready)
PIA (their latest update was released before Apple Silicon, and the upcoming release will be compatible)
GravitDesigner (abandoned)
DS Update (I guess car manufacturers are not experts with software)
and that’s it. Really, Deezer should not be on that bottom list anymore!

Our developers have confirmed that Apple Silicon is now supported in the latest release, version 7.0.1.
Yay! Finally!
Thanks :)
Finally, thank you for finally solving this.
If you only listen to music on your computer while it's connected to the internet, using your regular web browser is likely to be more efficient.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Great news. Is it for Mac’s M CPUs only, or Windows on ARM is supported as well?
Amazing news. for those who need to update for mac you must remove version 6 and re-install it from the deezer app page.

Yes, it probably installs the newest version automatically in the background if everything works as planned. 😉
