The song that impacted you the most -THE THREAD 🔉
good suggestion, i will try that out sometime. Ideally though it would be great if any non-local activity was async and non-blocking :)
I don’t have any hard evidence regarding the use of cache and downloaded tracks, but recently i was on a long drive and listening to a playlist that had already been downloaded - I noticed there were often pauses and gaps as if it was being blocked by network tasks (maybe made more noticeable because i was in the mountains and cellular coverage was not great). In general, i’d say the app is not so slow as to make me stop using it, but it definitely does not feel particularly performant. Actions like liking a song should happen immediately from the perspective of the user, and any syncing with Deezer servers should be transparent in the background - this is definitely not the case today, at least for the android app.My assumption has been that this was a design decision with known tradeoffs, similar to the use of electron as the basis for most (all?) clients. I’m not mad, I am really happy with deezer in terms of audio quality, sheer size of the catalog, and my favorite feature of all
If nothing else, give us a great set of API’s so developers who love Deezer can take a shot at it - I would really love to have a native Roku client….
@Fabien Rayé is their a public facing roadmap by any chance?
Its clear that the like button on the lock screen is possible, and can even be used today if you first activate navigation in google maps. Is its appearance there a mistake/bug or what?
Unfortunately for me, Deezer connect just seems to plain not work. I figured out a trick for making the “like” button show up on the lockscreen widget, and have noticed that once i do that, deezer connect does seem to more or less work for a bit but its still nothing like spotify connect :(
A little more detail, i think i figured out a sequence of events that will “enable” the like button. use google maps + driving mode (ie. navigate somewhere) play music with deezer tap on the music icon in google maps, suprise - there is now a like button on that screen! the like button is now also on the lockscreen restart the deezer app, no more like button on the lockscreenSo it seems this functionality is in there (maybe by default as part of the android media controls?) but its not always enabled. Is there someplace to file a formal bug report?
Please add this functionality - its probably the thing i miss most about when i was a spotify subscriber. I often listen to mixes that contain new tracks i have not heard, and to be able to quickly and easily add them to my liked list (particularly when i am driving) would a hugely beneficial feature!
