Yes, it would seem that the problem has gone away and all is now working well with Deezer in Safari.Deezer Support sent me a further email claiming the problem must be with my computer’s memory! I know this not to be the case. Anyway, all working well now, so thanks for your messages Comedon, and thanks to you too, Superschlumpf for your help.
I have had a further response from Deezer and, as requested, have made a videorecording of the Deezer/Safari problem. This time the ‘memory warning’ message appearsat 4 minutes into using Deezer. Comedon, regarding the Deezer standalone/desktop application: I have this on mycomputer, but it hasn’t worked properly for just over a year. The Deezer problem, as you have found out, does not happen in Firefox. I do use Firefox as mymain browser, and I use Safari only for Deezer, and other music streaming services.
I have received a reply from Deezer Support. The Customer Care Agent asked me to do the following:Clear Safari Preferences and empty the cache. I had already done this, but it didn’t solve the problem. It was also suggested that I go into the Mac’s System Preferences > Security & privacy > Accessibility > Deezer > Allow Deezer. I have ‘Allowed Deezer’ in these Preferences, yet the problem with Safari still exists. I have responded to Deezer Support, and I await their further reply.
Ok, to help the devs fixing this i suggest all of you send a request with detailed information to the support team. https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000057869 OK, will do that soon as I have posted this message. Thanks for your help.
Hello Ber Bas and Comedon,There are many people online offering useless ‘tips’ to try and solve this so-called Safari/Mac problem. It is 100% a Deezer problem. Only Deezer can fix it. Spotify runs with no problems in Safari. ALL websites run properly in Safari, except for guess who?And before anyone suggests switching off VPNs and turning off Safari extensions etc, please don’t bother! Deezer is the problem, not Apple, not Mac, not Ventura, not Safari. PS: Comedon, the Deezer problem started with me at around the same time it first started causing problems for you.
@Retrospective Ok, your hardware seems pretty good and fast. Imho this is a mac os problem like many others after the ventura update. Maybe Deezer has to change something, but Apple definitely made things much more complicated with this update. 🙄 Thanks for your reply. Firefox seems to play Deezer with no problems… for now. Just odd Deezer suddenly stopped working in Safari. Also, I have had Ventura installed for just over a month, and all was working fine with Deezer until a few days ago, so I am unsure whether it’s a Ventura / Apple Mac problem.
Hi Superschlumpf,Thank you for replying.I am using a 2019 3GHz iMac with 24 GB of memory. The OS is Ventura 13.1, which has beeninstalled on the Mac since December 13th, 2022.
I have had the same problem for the past year using the Mac version of Deezer’s desktop version. Had similar problems listening to Deezer in browsers. The only browser Deezer worked with properly was Safari, but now that has a ‘using too much memory’ problem with Deezer, and fails to work. I tried using Deezer with Opera browser last night and it is working OK… so far.
Hello!Since yesterday, 27 August, every few minutes, and always in the middle of a track I am listening to, the music in Deezer stops, and a Deezer message appears stating ‘your Deezer account is currently being used on another device or page’. This is untrue. I only ever use Deezer desktop application for Mac. There are no other devices connected to my Deezer free account. In my account’s ‘my connected devices’ section, I can even see for myself what I already know: no devices connected to my account. In a failed attempt to rectify this problem, I cleared the Deezer cache. When that did not do anything, I then completely uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Deezer desktop for Mac. The problem still exists, and has now rendered Deezer unusable, for me. Hoping somebody can help me out with this one, and thanks in advance.
