I've been a paying Premium user for around eight years now and am pretty happy with it but I'm open to discovering new things. What are the good reasons, in your opinion, to shift to Deezer?

I am Spotify Premium user for 3 years and now decided to canceled and use the Deezer for better audio quality,but I still using the Spotify free account to listen offline by using the Tunelf Spotify Music Converter which is cheaper than the Premium.so I use both

About 53mio songs in complete catalogue, but "only" 36mio songs in FLAC, so not everything streams at HiFi quality. That is why an indicator for the current audio quality of a track in the desktop app would be good. You can vote for a related suggestion in the Ideas section of this forum. I don't know if competitors like Tidal or Qobuz even publish their number of available songs in FLAC though.
Spotify ran an internal test about a year ago asking users how much they would pay for a monthly HiFi offer, but nothing happened afterwards, except for closing the existing idea of FLAC support for local file playback in their desktop app (not for FLAC streaming which is still one of their most popular user requests with more than 11k votes). Deezer does not support local file playback in their desktop app at all, so if that is important to you for mixing your local files with streaming songs on your playlists, Spotify has an advantage over Deezer. On the other hand Deezer allows uploading of your MP3 files which Spotify does not. Furthermore Spotify's desktop app can play local M4A files with ALAC content, i.e. the lossless format by Apple which you can easily convert to from FLAC with free tools.This only works in Windows 10 though (also when ripping CDs with WMP), because it has an internal ALAC codec now which Spotify uses for decoding in this case. So Windows 7 users cannot do this, but maybe MacOS users can, don't know about that.
Deezer also is the streaming site available in most countries of the world, next is probably Apple Music, then Spotify. YouTube of course rules them all.
Two other Spotify advantages over Deezer come to mind: gapless playback of connected tracks and dark mode for the GUI. You can vote for related ideas here as well.

I am a long-time Deezer user (Family and now Hifi) - why should I move to Spotify?
After 2 months testing Spotify Premium, I must say Spotify Connect is a killer feature.
The difference between using the computer or mobile to listen to music by streaming is considerable.
I listen to music with my Mac using Boom 3D Equalizer to adjust the sound to my own preference. Mac is always connected to the HiFi sound system and Boom 3D makes a huge difference in sound quality. Using this set up, the difference between Deezer HiFi and Spotify Premium is miminal with the advantage that I can control the music from anywhere in the house with great sound quality.
Futhermore, when using the mobile (with headphones, e.g.) I can use a third-party Spotify's app that makes a nice improvement to the sound. It is simple but works very very good: SpotEQ.
With this being said, the next 3 weeks will be decisive to definitely move or not to Spotify.

It depends. Deezer likes iPhone users and if you are one, fine. If you are not, and like long pieces of music, forget it. They inject silence right in the middle of the music if the music continues through tracks, as does an opera.
I am just trialing one with 3 mo from Samsung deal.
I like Deezer, but it has too much of a bugs and in over a year as a customer things has changed, but not all bugs we reported together disappeared. I’m not going for now, but I’ve been testing out.
I hope that Deezer will improve a lot.
In my opinion you can not just sit tight for years to wait full working product when elsewhere you can find one today. It was hard decision, but I might go to tilad or spoti after my Deezer half annual free.
Especially now when they raise price to 10,99, you can get more for less or same price.
I do not pay for Deezer Hifi a dime, but even this I think is not something to make it main player.
This is Legends price. I agree with all posted here, test service one year to see if it really works for you. For me decision was hard, but it feels like posting bug reports to them does nothing as no fixes.
They did fix bugs in months, but is still quite long time to walk daily with them.
I have problems activating tilad, but I sent them a Request.
Also I must say I do not like design of Web App of Deezer, especially the profile with all these tabs I never use and Android Offline not loading. Countless reports by me. It feels sad, I’ve posted about that too, but nothing is yet changed. FLOW plays the same music I heard daily from it already. No variety by now. I am literally at the point that I am willing to pay for a service that works better for me. The offline download problem is on Android for months now also reported by users, not just me and we still can’t see a proper fix for that. When core features, eg the point to subscribe does not work, it’s very funny. You do this or that just to Download playlist Offline full. It takes days and all these workarounds, elsewhere you update playlist and it is update on phone same second. On Deezer you go from app, close it, clear cache, just to get basics work. It’s sad and I tried to let them know as we Legends are to do, with no one to fix. When problem is when devs have time to do, I feel sad to search options. Again, it’s not to make bad day for everyone, I am just tired of bugs much.
I’d really like to stay longer, but with this much bugs, I’ll test for a while elsewhere.
Now as you see I get Deezer Hifi Family for free Legends price.
It’s fine as long as you do not want anything fancy. Apps not equivalent to features.
This all is what makes me going elsewhere, at least for main player :)

Concerning Spotify Connect Deezer can at least sync the play queues on all devices now, so it always starts at the beginning of the last heard song if you change your device. You can enable play queue synching in the audio quality settings.

It is sad in a way, but these bugs simply do matter. You try to clear cache and make a workaround for Offline lists to download fully. I found swipe down works when I simply do that on list so it does two things. Offline playlists loads the rest not yet downloaded if you can not wait days and updated playlist counts on Android (track amount). I do that daily. Have been reported with no avail or timeline for a fix. Eventually you just get to the head with it. You need to use your brain how to make Deezer work better. I wanted to stay and see longer, but how much longer until you get the basics that works.
Offline works so poorly I stopped using offline with Deezer.
Widget does not display artist image, reported many times, still no progress in months.
From my observation I see no reason to stay, as it does not work as I wanted him to work.
I tried my best to post them issues, as well artist releases on wrong pages, wrong artist listings (like no releases when there should be). This is not an issue elsewhere and it shouldn’t be our work to let someone know that on this page there’s 10 releases missing from artist repertoire.
I’ll save so much time transferring once again.
Just because I am legends doesn’t mean I have no opinion.

If you are into FLAC streaming, Deezer offers this now in the new desktop app besides specialised HiFi gear. The web player and the mobile apps do not offer HiFi audio quality yet.

Not gonna lie, Spotify was easier…
- I’m a last.fm freak and tracking my music habits with Spotify was smoother and way more accurate.
It’s true that Spotify scrobbling is a bit easier to use than the internal Deezer scrobbling option, but there are workarounds for most of the issues, as you might already know. If not, check the Deezer Scrobbling FAQ on the Last.fm support forum. The good thing is that it also works in the desktop app, web player and mobile apps like Spotify. Furthermore Spotify scrobbling also has problems which can get on your nerves, too.

After reading what you’ve said,, I have a few comments.
First, kudos for your frankness. It’s hard not to want to support a company that bares its heart like you’ve done and to be patient. Second, I could have done without the “tirelessly” in “One day, when we can sit on the same table as those giants you tirelessly compare us to, we'll be able to look back and appreciate the bumpy journey which took us there and the hardcore fans who followed the path alongside us.” I had no idea of the size of your company before I read this and had no way to know until you told me. I had no idea of the size of your staff (for all I knew, you could have been the size of VLC which is actually mass-developed as open source). Thirdly, I have to ask, why not just hire more people to bring the improvements along a little faster.
As for the last bit, I have no idea what your revenue stream looks like, your cashflow, or anything else about your company. But I will say that I wish you well and that I intend to stay, hoping this (Deezer) will become the kind of home stereo library with the kind of variety and depth of music that I could only dream of owning (I’m retired now and on a pension) but which I will be happy to rent.
Of course, my dream is in my head, and the only way you can know it is if I tell it to you. So I’ll be patient if you’ll be patient. I know what it’s like to work on a problem and have it in my head until a solution comes to me.
Lastly, I’m sorry I made you sad. One forgets, with all the bots one communicated through, that there are real live human beings with dreams of their own at the other end. I’m sorry, Rudi, personally, for that. Here’s to hoping our mutual dreams can come true and we can help each other to make them real.

I stayed with Deezer, annually as I paid, I did regret it at one point. But on the other hand I supported them and saw the Deezer after curtains. They are driven by music which I like. They want to improve. It’s just that they do not have resources to grow big as fast ast competition. Like I said, for me, it is needed to have just one player I can trust. Sadly Deezer does not fit my need. Even if I get Deezer the rest of a year for FREE, I do not see any point to use it as I have my music elsewhere.
I actually found TIDAL too buggy and it pushes too much of R&B and their owners music. When I do appreciate what they do, I am searching neutral place. On Deezer there was one day LGBT everything on main page and woman only other day. I was not happy with that, and did want to leave then even.
I care for LGBT and stuff. I am myself gay guy and proud of it.
I just do not care to see LGBT stuff that wide as Deezer did. I hope they learned something from it.

As what I’ve seen just reading this community, many ideas user really want are not done yet. They did some and it’s great, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t see myself using Deezer waiting them to come. For example my main problems with Deezer Hifi were these and I think you can have the same:
- Search is really bad. You typo, it finds nothing.
- You can not make a playlist for podcasts.
- You can not queue episodes how you want or between tracks.
- I was frustrated first day when I couldn’t QUEUE between radios and mixes, still to this day, even if that was asked by community years. Still can not do. Was able on Spotify.
- Too messy UI in web app, profile is just too cluttered. Recent tracks is 40 on web and 80 or more on mobile. It should be equivalent. same with bell icon, it has slightly more content on phone.
- Bell icon does not work. I followed same artists on Spotify and it gives me new releases all the time. On Deezer is few a week if even that, I think it’s broken. You need to refresh page to get bell note. It does not bell when you are on page already. Frustrating.
- Sync problem between apps. You can refresh swiping down lists twice to show them correct tracklist or track counts etc.
- Offline sync problem on Android. for three months. If not more. Still not fixed. Delayed download or you need to swipe down on lists to get them load. Frustrating. On other apps it goes background, you don’t need to do a thing.
- Poor flow. It plays recently almost like 90% tracks I already liked. No discovery. it is being improved but it’s not improving the way I want him to improve. Can’t tell more about it.
- Poor track mixes. If udnerground music, it starts to play perhaps from 0-to3 related songs and then goes charts. I reported this like when first day on it 1,5 year ago and NOTHING has been done about it. On Spotify there’s decent radio on even most underground hard dance.
- Mobile app UI is generally fine, but the app is too buggy sometimes. Bugs are worked, and it did improve, but still I do not see it be ready anytime soon.
- Mobile vs. web app not equivalent in features. iPhone always getting first.
- Web app settings too frustrating to use with different tabs with little to see on each.
- Various “Content does not play, try again”, “Error” on web app, which I can not get rid of. It shouldn’t be this way when you listen you are clearing cache or closing these bug pop ups. I’ve been using competition with no bug pop up for week now.
- Android widget is broken. Either it does not show cover image or there’s blank picture. As well it can not be resized if your screen has more than 4 icons one row.
- Mass deletion on web app does not work if you try let’s say to empty the whole liked tracks with over 2000 tracks. You need to go one by one. You click delete and it does nothing. None of the tracks are deleted. You need to unheart one by one.
I’d probably miss few, but here’s a good lunch.
It’s just not what I want to use Daily .
Yes, I really encourage you to stay and see yourself. I am over a year customer and it did improve, but not always the fast way, and not on all issues. They need still much work regards bug fixing.
My brother got to trial Deezer from my Hifi pool of 6 and he didn’t like it.
He said too much bugs and not very intuitive to use. He pays for Spotify even if he could get free Deezer. I understand him, because these are the same reasons I am going to pay for Spotify.
After my 3mo Samsung trial runs out.
I again do not have anything against anyone. Rudi is greatest person I’ve met ever.
He is honourable person and I wish him all the good in journey he will soon take!
I am sure to trial Deezer again in few years to see what’s improved

Thank you, I just found another Deezer advantage over Spotify: lyrics in karaoke style shown for available songs in the web player and desktop app, don't know if they also work in mobile apps. Spotify offers this as a test rollout in some Asian countries, but not worldwide anymore since they had cancelled it years ago.
The reason I decided to try it was that it’s ahead of the curve on lossless music. But maybe other people have other reasons.
They no more have that value. Tidal not either.
Qobuz, Tidal and Deezer had that opportunity to be selected over sound, but nowadays you can find lossless from Apple Music for less price and Spotify is coming with their plans too… wow.
It doesn’t mean that God’s gift to us. They are no more that only gift.
When let’s say Spotify arrive with Hifi at Deezer price, Tidal, Qobuz and Deezer they all will be.
In trouble. The lossless is no more a key benefit exclusively to them.
Are they providing something more for people to stay?
In this section they might be losing their game. Do they have a game plan?

- FLOW - I’m in love with that feature . Mix all the genre and suggest new tunes .
- Great audio quality . Better than Spotify
- I can upload my own MP3 files to the service ( On Spotify you can but it’s a bit tricky )
- When you hearted a song it won’t be added to the albums section like on Spotify
- Great community . I think you won’t be lost here .
Currently trialling Deezer (coming from Spotify).
You can do something like Flow in Spotify. If you integrate Spotify with Last.fm, you can then get Last.fm to play random music through Spotify based on your (or others) previous listening habits. Can be a bit temperamental though.
Personally here to try out the lossless audio. I am also hoping the devs are a bit more responsive here...

after being a premium paying customer over at Spotify, I’ve decided to cancel my Spotify Family Premium subscription after receiving this information, as to why Spotify has decided to scare off a lot of loyal premium users with it’s newly (horribly) designed Home Screen UI:
Everyone - after finally consulting with Spotify it’s been explained that with the new UI update with auto playing videos, each time they auto-play it counts as a stream and earns them revenue. They are done focusing on premium users and plan on making their money through auto plays on every user. Time to move on to another service. This is confirmed through Spotify engineering team.
I’m so sad, angry and disgusted at this move. Words fail me. I hope that Deezer will not decide to also tread down this dark path one day.
Anyway…. I’m now a Deezer Premium user and I hope to get to know other members here who, like me, love and need music in their lives.

About UCPS. And this is my honest opinion about it.
That is a very good implementation and probably the least intrusive one possible. I hope that Spotify and other competitors will do it in a similar fashion. We need to make our music compensated.

Old question, not sure if anyone is even interested in me joining in.
I have been a long time spotify victim (“victim” due to their unbelievably bad, arrogant, selfish, high-horsed and for some parts outright dumbid “support”). While I prefer Spotify’s podcast variety and some of Spotify’s features, at the end of the day their software is bug-ridden, they don’t have any Q.A., there doesn’t seem to be any German or English “native speaker” support so that one could actually communicate issues with them …
So I switched from Spotify to Amazon - only to be shocked at how BAD software can be. I mean, I know first hand from an Amazon developer that they just don’t care for how their software looks or works, as long as there’s money coming in from it - but I tried to work with second level support at Amazon for almost half a year and fix some of the issues with their apps (Android and Windows) to zero avail, even when we spotted probable causes.
The fact that Amazon would exclusively bomb me with German Hip Hop and almost nothing else and there’s close to zero chance of “shaping” your favorite music - plus the complete lack of any “real world” podcasts (outside the German “let’s taaaaallllllkkkk----aaaaaaassssssssssss---------sssssssllllllllllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww --- as - possibllllllllllllle” blabla) - made me run away screaming from their “service” (there IS NO SERVICE with Amazon, it’s all just money-milking from people stupid enough to support that company).
So for the moment I am enjoying Deezer: First app that mostly works reliably in the car (Android Auto), tolerable Windows desktop app (not “good”, but it does its job). At least a few podcasts available (no comparison to Spotify, sure, but ...). Sure, there’s a LOT missing feature-wise and, knock-on-wood, I didn’t need to try Deezer’s support yet (I fear they are out-sourcing to those Saturn-based chipmonks just as well as the others do), but until something better comes along that does not start with A or ends with pple, I’m deezing.

For me (I was with Spotify a while back) Deezer is better also because...
nicer interface (when you "like" a song it puts it under favourite songs, if you "like" an album it adds it to your albums but DOESN'T put all the songs in your Favourites songs (unlike Spotify does - very annoying!).

Yeah the scrobble extension on browsers has been lifesaver

They have an option inside app to post on Last.fm and is broken.
Alternative and workaround should not be a solution .
They need some work, or even remove function that does not work. It scrobbles with track name only. The remixer does not go to Last.fm. In addition to that you need to install another app to phone.
Just to scrobble on Deezer. Is too much of a hassle.
If something, let it be a scrobbler, or new music bell, it should work.
Imagine to buy a car in a shop and it does not work fully. One part is dead.
Will you accept if the repairman asks you to search for a replacement part yourself on Amazon?
The thing is (apart from Spotify) most of streaming platforms have serious problems with last.fm
- Apple Music - they dont offer even a broken scrobble functionality (you need to install apps for that purpose)
- YouTube Music - same as Apple (on iOS you basically have no option to scrobble from YTM other than a app named Finale which listens to your music and recognise it with ARCloud and then send the infos to last.fm and is just NOT smooth)
- TIDAL - they do offer scrobbling function but it’s broken as well. And also baring with TIDAL?! They archive is a true turn-off and apart from that I do care about WHO I’m supporting with my purchases and choices… a huge pop culture icon?! Nope sorry
And returning to Spotify is just not an option anymore (I live in Iran and we are faced with so many political limitations. What I don’t understand is platforms deciding to limit their access to regular people! Like, Deezer has some limitations as well but they’re not ‘purposefully’ trying to ban a hidden IP for no freaking reason! Like, wtf? Also all limitations will be gone once you purchase the premium version on Deezer but with a premium account, Spotify still won’t let me in while using VPN and guess what? They won’t let me in without VPN as well 
)
So happily waiting for Deezer…
