The “new releases” sections just shows me random music. I have no interest in that. Just the artists I have liked. A sensible place for this would be under favourites, i.e. “new releases”

The only option available is “Friday Releases” which usually shows you singles came out from artists you like .

You should also see new releases relevant to your music taste if you click on the notification bell in the upper right corner of the web player and desktop app. On Fridays I usually have around 20 new albums recommended to me based on my saved favorites, but also new ones from artists which I have not added.
Yes, I’d just like new releases for my favs. Its idea of what I might like is laughable.
