Why are my favourite tracks on Deezer are not downloading?

Hi both, 

Thanks -- Unfortunately I am in an airbnb so I can’t change the router too easily. However, I tested the issue with my flatmate who also has deezer and she does not have the problem when using the same wi-fi (from the same location away from the router). She also has a Huawei. It makes me think that rather this is an issue with my account or something. At the moment I also have Spotify (I was in the process of changing from Spotify to Deezer) and Spotify seems to download everything fine, and this is for both the desktop app as well as the mobile app. Furthermore there is a lot of ‘skipping’ with the deezer app, even when on ‘standard’ quality, whereas spotify is running smoothly both on mobile and desktop, so I was thinking something is not quite right.

Most of the albums I’ve downloaded on my iPadpro tablet are not showing. Many times I who’ve downloaded them many times and only 24 out of at last 70 show on my downloaded list. I have enough storage space. This has never happened on any of my other devises. That isn’t normal and actually it’s quite annoying. Thanks in advance for your help.

@Yula, my issue is that Deezer starts to download my favorites but hangs and stops after a while.  Here are the steps that I’ve taken SEVERAL times and get the same result every time.

  • Uninstall Deezer
  • Format SD card to ensure previous files don’t cause any issues
  • Re-install Deezer
  • Load the deezer app, sign in, setup audio streaming quality and download quality to HIFI
  • Change download storage location to SD card
  • Go to my favorites (with approximately 5500 songs) and select “Download”
  • After a few minutes, the download starts
  • Leave Deezer app open, plug in the tablet so that the download can complete
  • Songs start to download, but very slowly (not an internet issue, I have Fibe500 internet with speeds of about 200-300mbs on the tablet)
  • Somewhere between 1 to 2 days, the Deezer app will stop downloading songs
  • I will attempt to re-initiate the download by clearing the cache, restarting Deezer, restarting the tablet…  Nothing seems to work…

 

As mentioned before, if I try the same thing with Apple Music on the same device, it will successfully synchronize 5500 songs to the SD card in lossless quality in less than a day.  I prefer Deezer over Apple Music, but I would like to be able to synchronize my favorites to play offline.

Another possible issue that I thought of is that either my VPN (Nord) or my firewall/security apps (Malwarebytes & Windows Defender / Firewall) is messing with the app. I wanted to try to allow it but was unable to find the .exe file easily on my computer. Since the only way to download deezer is through the windows store (I assume?) I was not able to easily find the .exe file. It’s not in C / Program Files or C / Program files x86 or in the deezer folder.

We don't officially support VPNs, so you're probably onto a good trail there.

That actually makes a lot of sense @Dan CT our devs have been unable to reproduce certain issues because they could be related to users' connection issues.

Hi there, I am also facing this issue as well on my smartphone. The new songs just wont download, even though there is a download notification appearing, it'll just go away seconds later, and the songs remain not downloaded.

so i uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it for me, which worked. Now, the problem is that when I tick the box that says download using cellular data, it will prompt me to subscribe to deezer family, even though I am on HiFi already. very strange.

To The admin team … we really can’t all be having the same issue about downloading for over year. Do you guys have a solution or not ?

Hello, I think most were able to solve th issue by reinstalling the app or clearing the cache. Have you tried on your device?

When I add a song to my playlist or favourites, they do not automatically download despite auto download being switched on. 

I've cleared the cache, reinstalled the app, in which case it loads all the songs. But as soon as I add new ones, they are not loaded. I've seen this problem with many people, are there any workarounds / solutions? I don't want to clear the cache every time

When I read about your price increases I thought you may have hired more Devs, obviously this is not the case 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Hello, @emat I think the problem is that your are trying to download too much music. 

Could you try and download a smaller playlist?

We're working on this for our next releases @Dan CT please keep the app updated!

@Yula A smaller playlist works fine.  I’m aware that I’m trying to download many songs, but keep in mind that Apple Music and Spotify can both do this flawlessly in a very short amount of time.

It's frustrating when the app doesn't work as expected.

Hopefully, the team is working on fixing however we still don’t have an ET date for the fix.
