Deezer connect on Android app crashes Chrome browser tab

Hi all, I’ve got the app installed on my Samsung S20.  When use the deezer connect option so I can use it to control either the browser tab in chrome, or the desktop app (both not open the same time), on my computer,  it connects, but the screen flickers on the phone as it looks its trying to do some task over and over and at the same time crashing the browser tap or app. Unable to play a single thing.

The error in the browser tap or the installed deezer app on the computer basically says “an error occurred, please try again later”.   Have not been able to get this working. Any ideas?

Computer runs Windows 11 64 bit and the browser is Chrome which is up to date. Desktop app I guess is the latest. It seems to update itself from time to time when I launch it. Any ideas to get this fixed is welcome.

Now the only thing with the app that is not working is favorites.  If I go to favorites, it shows I’ve got 13 favorite tracks, but if I click into it, its blank. However albums section works so something up with favorites. Still its a great start as the app actually controls the computer now :)

Perfect @tino.l ! With the new Deezer Android version 7.0.23 should work smoothly again. 👌🏽😊

New version 7.0.24.1 fixed it!  Yay.  I’m happy.

Now waiting for Deezer to give the app ‘exclusive mode’ to get true bit-perfect audio to get the most out of the uncompressed audio :)

Hah I just checked now, and the app store finally shows me 7.0.24.1

I wonder if it just takes time to populate or maybe they release according to time zones.

It sounds weird.  I am in Australia and I see no reason why Canada would be any different.  I don’t know how the Google store works.  All I know is I went there and updated and now I have version 7.0.24.1

Hmm how does one sign up for beta versions?  Maybe I’ll give that a go! :)

And no go after enrolling for beta apps - even after rebooting the phone and going back in. So no idea. Maybe its not available in Canada? No idea.

Strangely, I have Version 7.0.24… I wonder if you have to sign up for the beta version?

Hmm I can only seem to download 7.0.22 from the Google store. Or at least thats what installs for me. How can I get that new version?

I’ll try controlling another Android device next, but I won’t be able to do that until later today.

It now seems to be working properly in this scenario.  I can now control my S7 using my S21.

I’ll keep an eye on it, obviously ;-) , but this is good :-)

@Duality please check again later or tomorrow morning and let me know. 🙏🏼

I dont see any update of 7.23. Are u sure that its rolled out? I even re installed the app. @Johnathan.Deezer

It’s complicated.  It still doesn’t work, but it’s better than it was.

As soon as I try to control either the Mac app or the browser (Firefox) I get an error message.  On the app:

On the browser the error message is completely blank.

However, I did subsequently get a song to start on the Mac… but then I tried to change to another song unsuccessfully.  I’ll try controlling another Android device next, but I won’t be able to do that until later today.

Deezer 7.0.24.1 running on Android on a Samsung S21.

Deezer Version 5.30.520 (5.30.520.155) running on a MacBook Pro

As soon as I try to control the Mac Deezer from the Samsung Deezer, I get an error on the Mac (see image) … and nothing plays.

Then I tried again and the song actually plays on the Mac… so it is sort-of working, but not quite right.

Hi @soakes, @tino.l and @Duality.

Our developers team just sent to me now, the new Deezer version 7.0.23 Android is available in the stores since today - could you please see if updating to this version solves the issue?🤔

Hi @tino.l

Sorry about this issue, yes as @soakes said, usually when you clean cache and reinstall the latest Deezer app, solve the issue. 😉

But if after that, if you @Duality still getting issue, I need more info to send to our developers and they can investigate it. So, please send me the model of the device, SO and the Deezer app version. If possible any video or screenshot of the issue will be very useful too, because I tested on my side and I don’t have any of those problems.😕

Thank you for your help!🙏🏽

Thank you Johnathan.  Like Duality, I’ve tried clearing the cache and for me it happens not only with the browser session but the app as well which I have tried reinstalling with no change.  The two things I see in common with me and Duality is

Windows 11
Samsung S20 (for me its the FE model)

@Johnathan.Deezer  Here is the flickering video https://imgur.com/a/QyukB77

  • Cache is in the Attachment
  • I am using Samsung s20+
  • App version is 5.30.520
  • Edit: mobile app version 7.0.22.45
  • Edit2: I missed the SO part i think you are asking software versions of the devices.
