I want to download podcast episodes, but it says that download is deactivated for this podcast with every podcast. I just have a new phone and on my last phone I was always able to download podcasts.

I tried to download the podcast on my android and I have the same problem as you :

On the Desktop Deezer app I don't even see the option to download the podcast .
I chose a playlist on android and there was no problem with downloading the playlist as on Desktop .
Maybe our dev are doing something in terms of improvement and that's why there is a problem that may disappear.

We are very sorry, but Deezer is unable to provide offline access for certain podcasts. However, you can still stream all podcast anytime when connected to the internet. Different podcast are subject to different restrictions notably based on regional limitations that we need to abide by. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused

I have the same issue across all podcasts since Friday - nothing else has changed on my device that would cause this I think, and download is not allowed across different podcast providers/sources.
I am having the exact same issue - 'downloads deactivated for this podcast', but it is on every single podcast and on those I have always downloaded from before!
Same issue here. Deezer seems to be very cagey about this problem. I've received separate answers; one saying (as above) that Deezer can't offer offline access to podcasts (but not acknowledging that they could do do up until last weekend) - I assume this answer is AI generated, and another stating that they are having technical issues with the download function. I'm starting to get a bit annoyed by it. Why pay for a platform that can't even provide offline access to free, advert supported content?
Same issue here on iOS - I’m listening to several podcasts in German and English and none is downloadable and therefore really annoying since I’m often forced to listen offline, no choice.

I am facing the same issue, not able to download any podcasts since Friday 15-Nov-2024. Don't always have internet access while traveling, so it was great to be able to download a podcast episode. Hope this gets fixed.
Really frustrating as I only listen to podcasts when I'm driving so no WiFi and have to listen offline. I may be forced to go to another platform where I can use it in this way!

For a week, I've been unable to download any of de podcasts episodes on my deezer app but I have no problems downloading music. It has only been a week and before I could download without any problems. Every time I try to download, I have a message showing saying "downloads have been deactivated for this podcast" for every podcast. On the community q&a I've seen several responses from Deezer saying that it was a country problem to access certain podcasts, but I have this issue for only a week, and it's the same problem for every podcast on the platform.

Like a lot of other users, I was used to DL the podcast for off-line listening. And since 10 days, it’s impossible !
I've now decided to take my listening elsewhere and cancel my deezer subscription to go with another platform that has better benefits. I've been thinking this for a while as Deezer offers less selection of music & podcasts than I'd like but have stuck with it over the years. Now one of the main features that I use has disappeared is just the icing on the cake! Hello Spotify!
I’m paying premium family and cannot download podcasts anymore. In South Africa mobile data is expensive hence we download and listen offline
please can this be changed back
just wanted to point to users that more than one platform started with this nonsense, notably a YouTube music also requires now a premium to offline content. Not that I agree with Deezer doing that.. it's another way of industry trying to make money out of users made content…
I’ve not been able to download podcasts for over a week. The answer been given about not all podcasts are able to be downloaded I don’t think is correct as I could up until the last week or so. Can Deezer confirm if this is a permanent change as if so I am going to have to cancel and use another provider I use podcasts when travelling when I don’t have internet access in order to stream
Same here. We're thinking of ending our subscription.
We are really annoyed - after being loyal premium family subscribers to Deezer - that they have now removed the download function for all podcasts (as of 16th November 2024). We love the music quality and algorithm on Deezer but listening to podcasts offline is one of the main features we used to use. We assume they're trying to push their own content. I bet we receive a reply here from Deezer with something along the lines of "some podcasts cannot be downloaded due to regional limitations" but this affected all of our podcasts... All mainstream and add supported from multiple countries... All stopped simultaneously. We wish they'd be honest to paying customers.
I understand how frustrating that must be! If podcast downloads were working before, this could be a recent bug or a policy update. I recommend reaching out to Deezer support directly for clarification on whether this is a temporary issue or a permanent change. Hopefully, they can provide a solution so you don’t have to switch providers.
I've tried to ask Deezer multiple times, with different question phrasing any I consistently receive the same stock AI answer. When I then ask to have a reply from a human I receive a message saying that the chat is experiencing difficulties and they will pass my concern on to a supervisor. Nothing after that.
