What happened in Music on this day !?
A few things to consider. Most of the Qobuz and Tidal catalogues are in CD quality, not HiRes, the ability to stream in a higher resolution stream does not mean you are in fact getting a “higher” quality of music. And as well, that listening experience depends much more on the quality of recording and mastering than it does the stream, compression and so forth. How one streams is a concern as Airplay 1 supports CD quality and Airplay 2 is certainly lossy, thus a lower quality stream. Numerous blind tests show that the vast majority of users with a high resolving sound system still cannot tell the difference between CD and HiRes, when in fact it is the quality of recordings (not streams) that are often giving a better listening experience. My vote would go towards a Deezer Connect option that would control, for example, my KEF wireless system that would allow the highest quality to be achieved without the laggy downside of Airplay 1. I’ll try Deezer connect again, but last time

Well this is embarrassing. I found the mic icon in my favorites list. Most of the songs in there have lyrics, so it was easy to see the icon. I went to another display of songs and there were none. Thank you for your persistence and help. Most appreciated. Cap
I guess I’ll have to contact support. I’ve followed the advice they give online re the three dots containing a microphone icon, but that is not the case with my app. I was on web Deezer, so downloaded the desktop app, but it is the same there - i.e. no Microphone icon. Thanks for your assistance regardless. Cap
Are you saying that you don't have lyrics that you can read while listening to the music? Not every song had lyrics, but a lot do. Here is an example: Is this image from your phone? I’m on desktop.
If all I have to do is click that Lyrics icon, I’ve not seen that yet. We’ve only been on Deezer for less than a week so I’ll keep my eyes open for that. Thanks.
I think the problem with these two songs is that they are cover versions by Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer where their copyright holders (probably different from the one for Jordan Ruddess) do not allow global playback for Deezer, but for Tidal. Good thought. Thanks Could it be this one : https://deezer.page.link/7S9V6Wn72gQVeS3D7 Yes. That’s the original by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. The song I wrote about in this thread is the cover done by Jordan Rudess. IMO, better than the original. :-) BY the way, that’s an interesting screen shot with the lyrics displayed. I don’t believe we have that feature here in Canada. Where do I see if its an active feature I can have?

It’s the same on the album page in Germany, both cover versions are greyed out and not playable with the same popup info when hovering the tracks with your mouse. As has been mentioned, the reason is varying copyrights for these cover songs per country and streaming site. My guess is that they are playable for Deezer users in the US. Where are you located? Hi. I’m in Canada. Both Tidal and Spotify have these songs in this country.

@Capndad indeed, copyrights are negotiated within different platforms, and also within songs and different types of subscriptions. Thanks. THat makes sense I guess, although I assume the negotiations that take place must be at a fairly high level. i.e. they don’t negotiate song by song. I guess I’ll just keep accessing TIDAL and Spotify for those that Deezer doesn’t have available.
Thank you for your replies. But if that's the case, why are they available on Tidal, or other streaking services? Are copyrights applied to individual songs rather than whole albums? The rest of the album is playable. Thanks
