The song that impacted you the most -THE THREAD 🔉
Disintegration by The Cure. Interesting times for The Cure when this album was released, Lol Tolhurst, founding member, drummer and keyboardist was infamously fired after this album was created, Smith citing a lack of input from Tolhurst apparently due to drug and alcohol abuse.Tolhurst stated “I’m not sure if we were in the same boat,” says Tolhurst, “but we were probably using the same oars and we were definitely rowing in the same direction. It’s just I was the one that hit the iceberg.”Fantastic touring band and always a raucous live performance.Disintegration, monolithic, moody and atmospheric. Smith says it was mixed to play loud. Pass me the eyeliner and the black trench coat. I did just that.
Each to their own I guess. I bought some Sonos gear and got a free 12 month subscription to Deezer, about 7 years ago. At the time Deezer wasn’t well known, it was all about that other Spotty streamer , but I was hooked. The ever expanding library, the sound quality, the ease of use, all of these things are what I like. If Deezer offered video, I would hope that it would simply be a different type of subscription. For me, I would choose audio only. Where I live and travel, Deezer plays in my home or my car, we travel very long distances and our phone networks are patchy to say the least, buffering and saved playlists takes care of the WiFi black spots. I have an Amazon/ Prime subscription. Being a Gen X kid from the 70s, Amazon has a massive library of music videos, concerts, classic albums, docos, etc that I am exploring. Just watched Deep Purple Live in Verona in 4K through my home cinema. What an amazing experience.
No thanks. Best to do what you do so well! Besides, requires greater bandwidth, more data and probably more dollars for a subscription. I love Deezer as it is. Please dont tinker.
I’m listening to The Beatles Abbey Road and Revolver. These and Sgts Pepper are my favourite Beatles albums. The musicality of the Beatles really is on display. The sounds and the themes transport me back to those times when these albums were recorded. They are a sonic time machine.
