🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Deezer Premium/Family 🚨 (Update)
Yes, we definitely need this. I asked Rudi this very question a few days ago and he brought this thread to my attention. :-) It makes a lot of sense and I don’t think anyone really wants to “down convert” their flac files into lossy mp3s. ;-) It gets my vote and hopefully a lot of others will vote for it and we can get the ball rolling on this initiative. :-)

@Rudi I was listening on my PC but have been listening to a lot of different albums and definitely more than 11 items. Is there a limit of how far back/how many items the history goes on the PC? Maybe I need to refresh the listening history too or just not get lost in a sea of new artists and music in the first place. ;-)
@bluezzbastardzz@Rudi Any new developments on this? I’m listening to more music these days due to working at home during the pandemic and keep discovering new artists and albums. I’ve also reached the 2000 limit on the PC and not sure that my latest additions were actually saved. I used the red heart to favorite them but can’t seem to find the albums in my collection and I don’t remember the exact name of them anymore but they were really good. I tried to track them down using the “recent listening history” list but couldn’t find them. How far back does the recent history list go? Is it based solely on the number of songs played or some other criteria such as how much time has gone by? I tried to find the two albums that I had saved the previous day but they weren’t shown in the recent listening history list.
@Rudi Would it be useful to have a poll to see which distributions members are using, or is Deezer going with Electron? Also, is anyone in the Deezer community using FreeBSD, GhostBSD or one of the other BSDs? Let’s not forget OpenIndiana. and even less popular systems like Haiku. Heck, maybe someone out there is still rocking a rig with Amiga or OS/2 and using Deezer. This kind of user fragmentation might be a challenge to the developers, so maybe a poll would give them a better idea of which distro to focus on.
@Dmytro Nazaryk Has it been officially decided if Deezer is going to use Electron or are the devs still considering native apps for different distributions? I don’t know how using Electron would compare with mellow player or other players in terms of overhead. Any thoughts on this?
@Rudi We keep meeting on different threads. I’m also a Linux user and that’s my main reason for using the web player which generally works pretty well. I’m rocking Peppermint which is a light weight distro based on Ubuntu. I haven’t tried using mellow player or any of the other players but would definitely like to see a dedicated desktop client for linux. It might be useful to Rudi and the developers to know which distros to focus on. I imagine Debian/Ubuntu and the wide Arch family would be some of the top contenders. Are there any Slackware or Gentoo users in the Deezer community?
@Rudi That’s great news! Keep cheering the dev team on. It would be a great Christmas/New Year’s present.
@Rudi Thx for the update! Hopefully it will be sooner than later. I’m sure a lot of people are looking forward to this feature too.
I use Deezer on my desktop/webplayer and am fed up with these annoying gaps. It totally ruins the listening experience and shouldn’t be that hard to fix. This has been a problem for years and a real nuisance which members frequently mention. Working from home now and listening to more music during these difficult times and this is really starting to get on my nerves. When will this problem be solved? By Christmas or sometime early next year? An approximate date would be greatly appreciated.
