Good day, I used to play Deezer through Chromecast audio perfectly on my old Samsung, since 3 month I switch to Iphone 8 and even if I’m still able to play music through Chromecast, it doesn’t work good as before: problem is when display switch off and music keep playing, as son as the next song play (s.a. from a play list) iphone stop to follow the playlist, actually the music keep to play smoothly but when I switch on the display, deezer keep showing the last track was playing before to switch off the display, it’s like deezer is not able to follow the running tracks when iphone is on standby mode. Even worst if I run the music flow based on my favourite songs, it’s happen that Deezer doesn’t update the flow and the last song keep repeating forever. To get the control of the trucks again, I have to close Deezer app and open it again, than play any track, automatically is going to recognise the track playing in that moment through Chromecast, than I can control it again so far the Iphone is “active”. Not sure if problem is from Deezer or Iphone but I would like to address the problem to you hoping on a solution.

HI @Diego Re Could you first of all try to delete and reinstall the app?

Also, I assume your connection is good enough for casting? (both devices have to be connected to the same wifi)

Could you also tell me more about the device you're using? Model, OS installed, Deezer version installed, etc 🙂
I use ChromeCast to send music to my stereo. Sometimes just the ChromeCast Audio in the living room, and sometimes a group of multiple ChromeCast receivers in multiple rooms.

I normally play from my iPhone or a wall-mounted iPad in the kitchen.

I just bought Deezer HiFi expecting to be able to change from Tidal, but i am having crazy problems with ChromeCast stability.



In the Deezer IOS app, i will start music. A short while later the app loses connection to the music stream.

My playlist is playing, but the app info is not updating and the buttons have no effect. I can go ahead and unload the app, since it has no function.

If i change my mind, i have to use Google Home app to kill the Cast. Then go back into Deezer to start a new one. If i screw around with it too much, i will also experience the Deezer app just crashing and disappearing from screen.

Friday evening, with friends over that changes music constantly, it is impossible to use Deezer.



ChromeCast is rocksteady on my network with several other radio streaming og music streaming apps, including Tidal HiFi.

I installed Deezer on an extra iPad, just to make sure the problem was not on my other gear. Same problem right away.



What's up with the bad ChromeCast implementation? Is this a problem being worked on? Will we see a fix soon? Or do i go back to Tidal?

Great audio, but if i cannot get the sound from my phone to my speakers, then what's the point? This is a dealbreaker...
Connected my stereo to new Chromecast. Using iPhone 7 to stream Deezer and controls become unresponsive. I even turned my phone off completely and it still steamed to Chromecast! Turned on phone and still no control until I unplugged Chromecast. Seems there are many complaints about Deezer and Chromecast. What does it take to get this fixed?

Yes, all devices are connected to the same WiFi. Otherwise i could not address the speaker and get the cast going.

The error is purely in Deezer, as i have no problems casting from other apps, and i have the bandwidth to cast HD video flawlessly.

Also, as i wrote, i have tried installing Deezer IOS app on another device to make sure it's not just the client on my phone. Unfortunately with same result.

This is definately not a wifi error or an iphone error. This is an app error.
Yes Diego explained it perfectly. That is what is happening. But mine even kept streaming after the app was closed, phone was turned off and back on with no access to control (play/pause/skip track). Once I re-started Chromecast in the app I got control briefly and then it stopped. It seemed to happen after the end of the first song I play once casting.

Are you aware that Chromecast is designed, so the Chromecast unit is the player, and your phone is just a remote? The fact that the music plays on with your phone turned off is a feature, not a flaw.

However, your phone app that is essentially a remote, should not loose control of the stream. THAT is the flaw.
Yes I get that it is designed to run in the background which is great. And yes not having the ability to control the app once it starts casting is the problem. I bought the Chromecast Audio specifically for this reason and now its a bust with Deezer. Hoping this is resolved quickly.

Yes, we've already passed this on to the tech team and they are working on a better solution for Chromecast. I don't have any details as of yet, but will hopefully soon be able to give you an update 🙂

Hi there, we are working on it, but I don't have any details just yet. Sorry about that. We will let everyone know, as soon as we hear anything from our team.
Same issue. Connection times out after 1 or 2 songs and then I need to shut down the deezer application on iOS. Then open Deezer again, click on the chromecast icon and connect and I can control the music again. But it will timeout again after a few minutes. So if you want to control Deezer with your iOs device you have to keep shutting down the deezer application and re-starting it and reconnect to the chromecast.

One year has passed - I’m still having this problems. Anything news?

It’s not necessary to restart the app - just type “Stop cast” - and cast again. But the music turns off and you will hear a new song. Not good …

over one year has passed, I have the same issue.

I’ve cancelled my subscription for this very reason.

I will happily restart my subscription if it is resolved.


I hope it is completed soon, @LazySounds2, so that we can count on you and other users back, certainly :wink:

I stream my deezer audio via airplay streaming. I get connection interrupt  with any phone call or app switch. Can I fix this problem with chromecast device which is connected to my tv or av reciever and chromecast iphone streaming. I dont want my iphone call interrupt my connection .  Basically I want to use chromecast deezer app like standalone player once i started streaming from my iphone and follows my play list for next song. 


I have the same problem with Chromecast on my iPhone.

It doesn’t matter whether I am casting from Deezer or any other app. This is a problem with the Chromecast functionality on the iPhone.

I had an old Android phone lying around and now I just cast from that device. It’s not the best solution.

Hi there: I am experiencing the same issue today. I also experienced it last year - different iPhone, same issue. I left Deezer because I found it so annoying, but I am sufficiently fond of Joni Mitchell and Neil Young to have come back.

Note that Spotify has never had an issue like this. What is so clever about their software?

Could you perform the basic troubleshooting steps to see if the issue can be resolved, please?
- Log out of Deezer
- Disconnect your device and Chromecast from the WIFI
- Turn off your device for 1-2 minutes
- Turn it back on
- Connect your device and Chromecast to the same WIFI
- Log in to Deezer and stream your music

Also, have you tried  to delete the app and download it again?
