We had to wait for it, but there it is: The new album of the Austria band Serenity. It was released yesterday. If you like your rock a bit more metal-like with symphonic elements, listen to Serenity.

Serenity is an Austrian symphonic power metal band, originally formed back in 2001. They became a more stable group with a consistent line-up in 2004, when it also began using more progressive and power influences than earlier. They have defined their genre with more melodic and symphonic metal elements.

Most of their music focuses on important historical figures and events, including Sir Francis Drake, Marco Polo, Galileo, Beethoven and Napoleon.

The new compilation contains many of the Swedish masked metal band’s most popular hits, including 

Mary On A Cross, Year Zero, Call Me Little Sunshine, Rats and Square Hammer.
On album is one rare track Zenith, a song previously unavailable on streaming services .

Hard rock in the 70s

During the 1980s, some hard rock bands moved away from their hard rock roots and more towards pop rock.
