DEEZER CATALOGUE - something is missing :mag_right:

We're really sorry to know the tracks you love isn't on Deezer. Not all artists and rights' holders choose to add their music on our platform. We always respect their wishes so some music isn't available or might be temporarily removed. 

Some of the reasons for this are: 

RIGHTS' HOLDERS :microphone:

If an artist has a large discography with different rights' holders controlling different albums you can sometimes find gaps in the catalogue - if a certain rights' holder hasn't yet agreed to allow the music they control to be streamed online.

TERRITORY :globe_with_meridians:

Streaming rights are also defined by territory - country, region, location. The tracks that appear in the search box when you're looking for music are the songs that are available in all territories. In a small number of cases, a user in a different country may not have access to different tracks so an "unavailable in your country" message appears when they try to listen to it. 

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO? :weary:

We're constantly updating and re-negotiating our agreements with rights' holders and thousands of tracks are added to our catalogue every single week.

You can try a couple of things:

  • Add your MP3 collection to Deezer :calling:
  • Contact the artist via their social media channels and request for the tracks/albums to be added to Deezer, we take care of the rest :nerd:

Hi @AkiraFire, I appreciate your request for Lemon Demon's "Touch Tone Telephone."

As much as we'd love to fulfill every request, our music acquisition process is negotiated between artists and rights holders.

Unfortunately, I can't guarantee that we'll be able to obtain the song.

In the meantime, if you have an active subscription, you have the option to upload the song to your personal MP3 section on Deezer and add it to your playlists.

Could you guys add Touch Tone Telephone from Lemon Demon? I've found remixes of it and the artist, but a few of their most popular songs aren't there, including this one. I hate to bother, it's just a big favorite...

Unfortunately, we don't have direct input into this process, so I can't guarantee that we will obtain the song.

However, remember that if you have an active subscription, you can upload the song to your personal MP3 section on Deezer and then add it to your playlists. You can find a step-by-step guide here.

Hello, Could you add the discography of Sight & Sound Theatres? they are available on other platforms but not on deezer.

Glad to see that Deezer has Epik High’s music, but the collection is for some reason missing at least one album. Is there any way to get SHOEBOX added to the service? Thanks!

The Depeche Mode discography is missing the album Songs Of Faith and Devotion.

As for Kalaf, the thing is going to me a bit more complex because he has few self-published albums, and mostly collaborations.
I found two profiles that match this specific artist (Kalaf Epalanga Ângelo):

  1. https://www.deezer.com/es/artist/4452243
  2. https://www.deezer.com/es/artist/11025550

These two profiles should probably be joined into a new one name “Kalaf”, hi artistic name as a musician.

Sometimes when you have several bands with the same name this mix-ups might happen, and our music team is constantly working on this (please keep in mind that we have a 90+ million songs catalog).
Thanks for reporting any issues.
Regarding Kalaf’s nusic, if you could send the URL’s on Deezer which correspondo or not to the artist I’ll be able to make changes. 
I have updated Earhtling’s profile with the missing album now

Getting back to the topic with a new question. How do you manage artists with the same name?

 

Example: The band Earthling.

The main profile includes the album Insomniacs' Ball. But is missing the album Radar.
The album Radar is assigned to the profile of another band with the same name.

So, both bands have mixed albums in this second profile.
Ironically enough, the top songs of the second Earthling band are almost all from the first Earthling band.

Now all is sorted for both artist:

But maybe there’s an opportunity where the Deezer team could improve on these two issues; the way the Discography section is built, and the section “More albums” to be available in the Apps as well.

yes ,you’re right there is no albums in Discography sorted in artist section ALBUMS , but you can find them if you know title of album .

maybe @Jaime. Community Manager can help to organize that and sort Discography in Albums ,Singles etc. 
I don't have that possibility .

The artist in question, Jestofunk, has several albums in Deezer (added below).
So I assume it’s not related to rights.
But these albums are not sorted as part of the artist discography.

In fact, this band has no Discography section.

I thought the Discography section was somehow generated automatically if an artist has albums in the platform.
 

 

 

 


I was digging deeper, and I see that the albums are not in a Discography section, as I expected.

But, in the Browser App, if I go below, after Similar artists > Appears in… > …​​​​​​
And then, after a good scrolling, there is a “More albums” section… And there they are…

I’m also using the iPad as well as the Android App, and this section of “More albums” is not in there…

is there a reason the albums appear as More albums, and not as Discography?
And these albums are almost impossible to reach in the Apps (unless you search for the specific title)…

This album, Hesitation Marks - Nine Inch Nails, suddenly disappeared!

The rest of their discography is still there, including the Deezer playlist "100% Nine Inch Nails" in the screenshot above which references this album.

 

Please provide a valid answer. It can't be the record label or artist as this was an album that used to be on Deezer, it's not a new release, and clearly the rest of their content is on Deezer.

Deezer had a similar problem for over a year about the album Meliora by Ghost, despite having their whole discography and a 100% playlist and even Deezer exclusive content for that band. 

 

Looking forward to a quicker fix

Last time I was on Deezer on the Charles Mingus feed, there were a large selection of live albums. Today, there are two. I’ve noticed this with other artists as well. The reason I’ve been with Deezer for years is that you have always had a more complete collection than other streaming services. Lately, your choices have been shrinking. Why is this?
