Has anyone ever succeeded in getting Google Assistant to play what they want on Deezer?

I've been trying to get Google Assistant to play a specific playlist on Deezer for years, and this feature just keeps failing to work. Searching these forums, I see Deezer devs have been aware of the issue for years, and promising to work on it. And it still doesn't.

What happens to me is, GA opens Deezer and then either says "an error occurred" or says "okay, playing [playlist]" but then plays something totally random. No matter how blatantly specific I name my playlist, it never plays it.

Has anyone ever managed to get this to work?

I can't believe such a basic feature is not available. I'm seriously considering switching to Spofity for this one single reason.

Hey @tinath

on my pixel 6a just now:

“Hey Google, play music by Phil Collins on deezer.”

Deezer app opens, “Both Sides of the Story (2015 Remaster)” plays, as part of “Mix Inspired by Phil Collins.”

“Hey Google, play the playlist “Soft Rock” on deezer.”

Deezer app plays “So Far Away” by Dire Straits, as part of the “Soft Rock” playlist.

I think all of the virtual assistants struggle to a certain extent, and wording things slowly and carefully helps me. Might be our phones, too. That’s all I have. So a yes for me, I guess.

Well lucky you!

With mine it goes like this:

Me: "Hey Google, play playlist Gilla Band All."

Google: "Got it. Asking Deezer to play Gilla Band All. "

It even spells it out correctly on the screen.

But then it either opens Deezer and plays Ian Gillian Band, which is NOT what I asked for, or it says "Sorry, something went wrong. Try opening Deezer."

No matter which playlist I try with, it pulls the same random nonsense, it never works as intended.

Hey @tinath

Do you have a Deezer subscription?

Where are you based?

Yes, Deezer premium. And, Croatia. But my phone language is set to English.

Unfortunately we do not support Google Home in Croatia.

Sorry @tinath!

Sorry @tinath!

That doesn’t make any sense, what difference does it make where I am geographically, if my phone system is set to English and I speak to it in English? Do people from other countries lose their Deezer Google Assistant capabilities once they enter a country you don’t support?
