We’ve been waiting forever for Discord rich presence. The team at Discord said they are open to allowing Deezer integration, so we are all just waiting on the Deezer team to do something now. @Rudi you mentioned that the feature isn’t currently in the cards? Why? We are lacking transparency from the development team, we users have no idea what obstacles are in the way of Discord rich presence, nor are we getting any reasoning from the development team as to why it hasn’t happened yet other than “it’s not on the plans right now.” We are communicating through a middle man to try our best to reach the Deezer developers, but they are returning with weak responses. I switched back to paying for Spotify, but if Deezer steps up their social features and adds Discord rich presence, then I’d be happy to switch back for another try. Thread for more context: Take a look at the attached screenshot below. This is the type of integration that you are missing out on. You can even start group listeni
@bluezzbastardzz Album download limits are 1000, which is beyond enough albums for me. I already have 24 gigs of music downloaded. The browser extension is merely a bandaid solution, and doesn’t allow simultaneous listening or any of the other features that Spotify provided when they chose to work with Discord.
One more thing, artists choose which platforms to add their music to based on both royalties and discoverability. Deezer pays more in royalties than Spotify, but Spotify has a stronger selection of music partially due to the additional social features that help boost discoverability. If Deezer can bring new social features to put it on par with Spotify, more users will flock to Deezer and more artists will put their music on Deezer. The two variables of users and amount of content are directly correlated, but will only continue to grow at this point if Deezer finally puts its social features on par with Spotify. @Rudi @Rafael.
Hello @Rudi @Rafael. I decided to trial Deezer, as I heard they don’t have song download limits like Spotify. However, Spotify still has plenty of rich social features, like seeing what your friends are currently listening to, and collaborative playlists. One of the most important social features has been a rich Discord integration. These are all features that are missing from Deezer. I’ve noticed that this request for a Discord integration has existed for over 3 years now, and while the Discord team is more than willing to introduce the integration on their end, the Deezer team has yet to follow through on their end. Social features drive music curation, and with all due respect, we don’t have the understanding why development of a Discord integration hasn’t started yet. We want to hear directly from the development team at least as to why they haven’t prioritized developing the integration yet. The community managers are doing a great job, but they can only do so much to address our
