It's that time again: the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 is just around the corner!

This time on May 13th live from the city of the Beatles, Liverpool, it will take place in the UK as it was chosen to host the competition on behalf of war-torn Ukraine, which won the last contest.

To get ready together we want to remind some of the most EPIC moments of the contest.

In 1974 the UK hosted the competition in Brighton.

That year Olivia Newton-John competed for the UK with her song “Long Live Love”, she is actually Australian but she was allowed to represent the UK

Unfortunately she only arrived 4th because…. She was defeated by Abba!

That year ABBA won the contest with the BIGGEST hit that ever came out from Eurovision…. WATERLOO!

Eurovision Earworms

Whether you love it or hate it, Eurovision is a breeding space for earworms, those song that crawl in your head and play over and over!

Remember when Romania in 2017 competed with a yodel song?

Or when a bunch of Russian ladies baked bread on stage with their song: Party for Everybody?

There have been some SEXY 😈 moments, like when Poland in 2014 presented their song My Słowianie with dancers churning butter and doing the laundry with some very seductive moves. That year the UK gave Poland the max of 12 points, but Poland still didn’t win, landing the 9th place.

Other epic winners were…

Conchita Wurst, rising like a Phoenix and winning for Austria in 2014

And Måneskin reaching international stardom in 2021 winning for Italy with their track ZITTI E BUONI

Do you love or hate Eurovision?
If you do, who are you most excited to see?
