Suggestion: Album collections within user account

Further thought about the sorting of classical albums has led to an idea that would add value for many users - not just classical listeners. And it would be beautifully elegant from the viewpoint of IT development as well as marketing and user experience.

The idea would be to allow users to set up a small number (say three, initially at least) distinct album collections within their account.

This would allow a user with eclectic tastes to have a dedicated. classical collection, sorted on Album Title. Since the bulk of classical album titles begin with composer surname (all bar three in my library) his would instantly solve the main and justified gripe of classical listeners, namely that albums by e.g. Beethoven or Brahms are listed in a random mixture of performer names rather than being together in the alphanumeric order.

Another (or indeed the same) user might set up a collection for Various Artist and other compilation albums, again sorted on title. Thus “American Anthems”, “(The) Greatest Showman” and “Now That’s What I Call….” would be properly sorted, rather than coming in random order under “V” for Various.

Meanwhile, original artist albums could continue to be sorted by Artist Name (hopefully, when programming resources permit, ignoring an initial “The”). Different users could use the additional collections in a number of different ways. Depending on how the Deezer system and licensing arrangements work, having multiple collections might offer programmers and users with large collections a workaround for the 1,000 album limit. And importantly, the option of multiple album collections could be a differentiating feature for Deezer in an increasingly competitive market
