I've a Bluesound Powernode N330 streamer running on BluOs with Deezer available. When I use Deezer on my Google Pixel 7 Deezer Connect doesnot connect to the Bluesound Powernode N330 streamer.

Other streaming service do support the connect function.

Would be nice Deezer would support this also because I prefer Deezer as streaming because it streams in Flac.

I had posted a couple of years ago this same question, unfortunately Deezer Connect does not work for Bluesound, nor most other devices in the way that you would hope. Your best bet is to use the Bluesound app or Airplay 1 or Chromecast to your node. This will still give you CD quality sound. If and when Deezer goes to Airplay 2 you will notice a significant degradation in audio quality and are then best off using the Bluesound app which goes via WiFi. I suspect you want Spotify or Tidal Connect functionality, Deezer is just not there yet.

I use the Bluesound app with Deezer available. Sadly albums and favourites are sorted by release date 😥

And yes when using Wifi you get a decrease of the audio quality.

I've transferred my list and favourites to Spotify. Spotify connect works.

But as I said I prefer Deezer because it streams Flac

In fact you should notice that Spotify shows a decrease in sound quality as it does not stream lossless? WiFi itself should not make a difference, my understanding is that WiFi does not degrade the signal in the same way that Airplay 2 does.

On the topic of Spotify Connect, do you find the connection stable….can you walk around your environment and maintain a stable connection?

Spotify streams in OGG which is a proper file format for streaming. OGG is as we speak the Open Source equivalent of FLAC.

FLAC is preferred by the audiophiles.

As it stands, Spotify streams audio at 320Kbps in the “lossy” Ogg Vorbis format, which means the audio stream has been compressed and is losing a fair amount of detail in the interest of conserving bandwidth.

This is a paste from Tech Hive, although multiple sites suggest that currently Spotify is lossy and streams at a lower quality than Deezer, Apple, Tidal, Qobuz etc.

As well numerous sites suggest that OGG is not the same as FLAC, https://www.lalal.ai/blog/difference-between-audio-formats-mp3-flac-wav-aiff-m4a-ogg/

Thnx for sharing this article.

FlAC much better than OGG. As I said earlier FLAC for the audiophiles and the reason I prefer Deezer above Spotify.

When Deezer Connect would function on my Bluesound Powernode N330 I would be the happiest man on earth.

By the way the Bluesound Powernode N330 is a magnificent device when you only stream audio. Playing vinyl get a device with a phono trap.

Danny, do you know what the playlist size is within the Bluesound app? I have a few playlists of over 1000 tracks that I cannot play at all within the KEF Connect app as it is limited to playlists with less than 1000 tracks. I did have the Bluesound node that I sold to a relative but I cannot remember if there were any playlist size issues.

I do agree, Bluesound makes some pretty stellar products.

I had to Google it 😋

Deezer Content Limits

I see that, however the content limits within my Kef Connect app are different. I have over 6000 tracks in my “Favourites” but as KEF only allows 999 tracks I cannot load that playlist within the KEF app. Thus I Airplay to my KEF speakers which is good for now, but if Deezer ever switches to Airplay 2 I suspect I would explore other services that have a proper Connect feature. (Side note, frustrating that Deezer Connect, Tidal/Spotify Connect and KEF Connect are all different!)

So Deezer connect to your Kef's would be nice 🙂

Which Kef's are you using.

My speakers in th e Bluesound Sonus Faber Sonetto I.

I previously had KEF Q950’s with the Bluesound Node and a Cambridge amp, I now have the KEF LS60’s with a KC62 sub. Very happy.

Wow. A sub with floorstanding speakers. Your neighbours aren't pleased with you I suppose 🤪

In fact I might even get another sub someday! Works at low volumes as well as for parties :)

I do try to remember to close the windows at around 10:00 PM when the noise bylaw becomes more restrictive but yes, on occasion our neighbours have heard my tunes. More acceptable when I play music they like!

LOL. I've no sub.  Speakers 2-way but they go pretty low. Living in a appartment complex.

Volume most of the time at 20%. 25% is already loud, 33% louder and 40% is almost party level....🤪
