On 17 May 2013 Random Access Memories was released by Columbia records, exactly 10 years ago, the 4th and FINAL studio album of the French electronic duo Daft Punk. Fans were all expecting an electronic masterpiece like their previous albums: Homework, Discovery and Human after all, but the duo surprised everyone with a retro album that pays tribute to the groove of the 70’s and 80’s Los Angeles music scene. The album won 5 Grammys (including album of the year and best-engineered album), was certified platinum and the single “Get Lucky” became one of the best-selling digital singles of all times!! We were all so sad knowing that this would be their last studio album and even sadder when they announced their split in February 2021.
