360 by Deezer is a new app dedicated to our Deezer HiFi subscribers.

Deezer HiFi users now have the ability to hear the very first songs recorded in 360 Reality Audio by Sony.

What's the technology behind it?

360 Reality Audio maximizes the spatial sound field by creating multiple virtual speakers and converting instruments into independent objects that can be placed in different positions to create a truly immersive experience for listeners.

What are the requirements?

  • iOS version 11 and higher and Android version Lollipop and above

  • Deezer HiFi subscription

  • 360 Reality Audio can be enjoyed with most headphones and is optimized for Sony's range of headsets

  • To learn more about 360 Reality Audio visit Sony's website

Hi Rudi…. another month floats past. Another update to the 360 app in the Apple Store. Still it doesn’t work.

It’s now SIX MONTHS since I first raised this with Deezer.  Your guys don’t do much in a hurry, do they?!?  If I was this bad at my own job I’d have been shown the door by now.

Our teams are actively investigating this. It could be related to a billing issue with our iOS app (that's why it happened for you when you changed to HiFi).

Thanks Rudi. It worked fine at first. I didn’t have 360 until I moved to HiFi. After that point it worked fine for a few months. My suspicion is that an update around July / August caused the problem. There was nothing I changed at my end. Worked one day. Next day it didn’t.

Incidentally, someone on the AppleStore feedback for the app reports something very similar.

More broadly, the feedback there isn’t the most confidence-inspiring...

Are they any Hard Dance songs on that service? I have both Sony products to listen to music and they all support 360 by Deezer. I can’t wait to have Hifi as soon as my Premium annual will run.

They really have great deals at Deezer, I recommend looking for them around their site.

My earphones and headphones all Sony seems to benefit from FLAC sound.

Mainly because it is not converted another time to MP3 over Bluetooth.

I hope I can taste out 360 service as well now when I have Hifi trial as well.

I overpaid for my music YEARS, when on Deezer annual subscription is so affordable!

Hi Rudi! I watch with interest how you heroically solve @ wmiller1970  problem for six months. I have the same problem. In the spring I paid for hi-fi tariff and installed Deezer 360 on my iPhone. It worked fine at first. And one summer day it stopped working...

Its not authorization problem... I repeat, at first everything worked fine. And Im not alone, its mass problem. 80% of reviews in Apple Store in my country are about this problem. 6 months we continue to pay for service that was promised to us, but the application does not work. And your team is still looking for a problem. its such a bad job, that its even funny :)

P.s. For goodness' sake, do not suggest reinstalling the app and rebooting the device :) This is all done 100 times.

I appreciate your concerns, I wouldn't recommend any reinstallation at this point either. It has been established that this isn't that kind of problem, so we're working on fixing it.

Please hang in there, it'll eventually get sorted. For now, you can enjoy all the benefits of your Deezer HiFi subscription without any issues.

The 360 by Deezer app will get improvements this year, on top of this correction. It's an extra feature we've made possible with Sony to showcase new audio technology and it's new, it isn't our main app :relaxed:

Another 6 weeks drifts by, my friend. I’m now 7 and a half months into this……  are we aiming for a nice round year before it gets fixed?

I notice today that Amazon’s HD service has now paired up with Sony RA…. might be time to make that move, finally...

Mixed feelings: glad to hear from you, upset we haven't got this right yet.

Our partnerships teams are working on this, and to be fair, so many other projects at the same time - we're developing our own remote control feature this year as well. So it's part of our focus for 2021, but there's so much we can do at once.

I've been reassured this app is getting improvements this year, both with content and its own performance. I've also chased for an update with one of our Product Manager thanks to your reply here. There have been some changes in the team but he reinforced the commitment for the app, both from us and Sony, for this year.

 

@Rudi i can't really hear the differences as it shows like big time how different it is on sonys own artist connection app - zara larsson song. That song is great but nothing of those songs came close to that.. Also other services tidal put this 360 audio in main app as tidal. Will this 360 audio ever come close to what it shows in artist connection app? Or it's like special thing and you guys basically tricked us to get a sony headphones :))

If you haven't noticed any difference in terms of sound quality, then I suggest to check the hardware. It needs to be compatible with the technology, otherwise, in only a few tracks you'll be able to spot obvious improvements in sound and the 360 effect. I can't speak for Sony's app, but perhaps it has an equaliser OR, you need to double check the settings for our 360 app as well. Keep me posted with more details, I can also check it back with our devs :wink:

I am using sony XM4 tho. can you give me a song that is best in 360 so i can actually try to see if it works? Thank you

I'm lead to believe that maybe the app isn't optimised for your headphones yet - as all of the content available there has been specially curated.
