Hi,
I have just taken out a Deezer Family plan so that my Wife, Son, Daughter and I can play our own music on our Sonos devices.
We have several Sonos devices in our family areas.
My Son and Daughter have a Sonos Play 1 each in their bedroom and I want them to be able to listen to their own music without disturbing the music downstairs.
It is not clear how I set this up in Sonos please can you confirm the steps.

Thank you,
Alex

Hi @Mearns, if you are using Sonos app you can only access the master profile of the Family account as Sonos has not implemented Deezer Family in their app yet.

But Sonos is now compatible with airplay too and you can access other Family profiles if you have Sonos One (the second generation) Play:5, Playbase and Beam. Please have a look on Sonos website to know a bit more about it.

Let me know if you have any more question 😉

Hi @AlexGodfrey, it's not possible to use child profiles on Sonos at the moment, since it's connected through the email address and only the mast account has one linked. But we are working on that and I hope that this can be implemented soon! Will keep you posted! ☺
How can I switch/add family account with sonos... ? Seems impossible.

Hi @Stephane Loyer, you can't switch between profiles on Sonos atm. But we're working on that and I hope this will be possible in the future!
I want this SO much!!!I have emailed support about this last year.

Unfortunately it is not posible to in Sonos , Because Family is not a multi-account offer, but a multi-profile one: with a single Deezer account (login /pwd) you can create and use different profiles, each of them independent of the other.
It would require from our Sonos a specific implementation that is outside the classic scope of the integration of our service.

Hi @Anja , any idea when this could be implemented? I need this as well! Thank you!

I understand that this is something you'd love to be implemented but please note that we can't promise when this will happen. But I will of course pass your feedback on to the team! 🙂

@BeaLi @Stremissimo I don't know yet, as this is a feature request and we don't develope the sound system app ourselves. But I'll let you know, should I have any updates on this 🙂

I was practically ready to subscribe to a Deezer family account, but don’t think I will now I found this out... such a pity as I really like Deezer!

Also, we already have a topic on our Got an Idea forum and we are passing this feedback on to our devs.
Please follow this topic 😉
Are the same links available on Sonos with a Deezer family account as with the premium plus account?

Hi @arthurb, I'm sorry, but I didn't understand your question. 🙂
If I subscribe to Deezer Family, is it fully accessible on Sonos as premium plus is.
Also I noticed that some tracks are not available on family, is this due to age restraints or why?

Hi, yes, it's fully accessible on Sonos as Premium+ is, but the diference is you can only access the master account, not the profiles.
About the content, there is no difference between both subscription, they have access to the same songs :)
What made you think that? Did you get any error message? I can investigate it for you 🙂
I was sure I read on the T&C for Deezer Family that some tracks that are on premium plus were not available on family..

Hey Arthur, I was like 🤔 after you said that because no one of us have ever come across different rights for Family subscriptions, so I went to check and it really does say that on the terms and conditions but I'm not sure if that's still the case because some other things on there that need to be updated too (like the part where it says you can't subscribe to Family via iTunes, for example). I'm going to double check with legal just to make sure and I'll let you know 🙂
Apparently DEEZER are responsible for the app integrated into the Sonos controller app. I have a Sonos system throughout the house and I pay for DEEZER family but... it’ll only recognise the main profile on my deezer which is rediculous...

Can two people log into the master account on Deezer Family at the same time? So that they can both control the Sonos, obviously...

You can only access the master account in the Sonos app, but Sonos has added Airplay 2 to the Sonos One and Play 5 speakers. If you have one of these speakers and an iOS/Mac device, you will be able to stream music directly to the speaker without having to go through the Sonos app. This means that you can stream from a family profile too, not only the master account. Please see above 😉
Over 1 Year Deezer is not interested to solve the problem with the Family Account and Sonos. Every Time the same answer from the support...we work hard...and nothing happens 😡

Please Deezer Users, go to Spotify and all works great with Sonos, every Family Member has a separate account.

It's a shame Deezer!

Hi, it's not an issue we need to fix from our side, it's just the way Sonos created their app. We will keep passing the feedback to them anyway :)

But Sonos has a work around for this! Please check this article - https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1230?language=en_US

Hi there,
I'm using Deezer now for a few years and so far, no complains.

I just started a family account before reading this topic. We have 4 users in the house and of 2 of them with Sonos. The idea was that every family member has his own account and music.
To my great surprise you can only access the Sonos app with the master profile of the Family account from Deezer.

I see a lot of promises but no hard dates.
Deezer can you tell me when it's possible to use all the family accounts. If it's not possible I will change to Spotify (rather not). And please now answer like "we are working on it" but a concrete date or say sorry we can't provide this service.

It's a little childish that Deezer is pointing to Sonos and Sonos to Deezer. I think you both provided from each other so solve it together please.
