No, because HiFi audio quality is not supported in mobile apps, only in the desktop app and some specialised hardware devices like sound systems, wireless speakers etc.

Note: This was written a year ago when HiFi was not available on mobile devices. Now it is, so it depends on other factors like quality of the mobile headphones etc., see my newer replies to this topic.

You could stream to a device and plug your headphones into the device - if it has aheadphone connector - and listen to HiFi 😉

Right, and carry that device around to make it mobile. 😉

since I have been experiencing issues with hifi subscription from deezer, I am planning to downgrade my subscription from hifi to mp3 where I find no issues with my current subscription (error message).

my question is does it really make a big difference in sound quality from hifi and mp3?  personally I find it the same in sound quality but I just want to make sure I am not missing something here.

Hi there @roger.arenas.184

Thanks for sharing with us.

You can still streaming with HiFi quality on web.

And as this topic is out-of-date, you can now stream HiFi from our mobile apps and Xbox as well. The difference can be noticed with the right equipment.

@bluezzbastardzz does it sound clearer to you than MP3?

For me it does, but this depends on several factors for other users: type of music you listen to, equipment, experience in comparing tiny differences, hearing abilities etc. That is why it’s good to test HiFi streaming for free and then decide for yourself if it is worth double the price.

When using the Web, how can you tell if you are listening to a track that is HIFI vs just premium quality? I have the settings set to the highest, and am trying to stream via my built in sound (which IS capable of high bitrate output).  What specialized hardware is everyone talking about? Surely the DAC on my motherboard with my high end in ear monitors is going to sound better than a pair of small sonos speakers 20 feet away!

Hi @PilotJeff, with “the Web” you probably mean the Deezer web player in your desktop browser, right? If you switch to view the play queue in the lower right corner of the player, you will see a grey HiFi or HQ sticker on the album cover in its lower left corner. If you see nothing, this means you are listening to Standard Quality = 128kbps MP3 which can only happen if you haven’t enabled at least High Quality (320kbps MP3) or HiFi (FLAC at max. 1411kbps) or with a free Deezer account.

With specialised hardware I mean the devices that have a hardware-based implementation of Deezer HiFi FLAC streaming like network players, wireless speakers, smart tvs etc.

HI,

I am in doubt to switch to HI FI:

At the moment I use Sennheiser hd 650 headphones with DAC Audioquest  Dragonfly Cobalt.

Also I have Muso Naim for streaming.

Please advice me if it is make sense to switch from premium to hi fi regarding my devices.

Thank you lot

Robert

Just test it yourself if you can have a free month of HiFi streaming. In the end only you can decide if it is worth the money. Your gear list reads as if it is good enough to make a decision, but I don’t know if that Naim device supports Deezer HiFi streaming. So you may have to test it on your computer/laptop or mobile device with headphones.

Hello

I’m a new user and a little bit sad of what happens here. First I lost my free subscription to test your app, after I took family ones, now I understand that I need hifi ones but Not able to change anywhere. Please help me understand your possibilities because I am not going lose my money and stay with my Apple Music.

Hello @Mahlsenn, you can have a look to @bluezzbastardzz’s answers on this topics, they give a lot of information regarding Deezer HiFi. Feel free to comment if you have any questions

Have a nice day!

@Mahlsenn If you are currently on a Family subscription, you cannot directly switch to HiFi. You have to cancel the Family account first, wait till it has run out, and then subscribe to HiFi. Note that there is no Family account with HiFi streaming available yet, so only you can use HiFi, and you cannot add Family members to it.

Hi there I want to change my plan to hifi one as it says better sound out at the moment I've got deezer for free till July can I move plans without paying as it says I have to pay 20 today for it

Hello @phil34, if you change plans now, you will lose your free time and you will start paying right away for HiFi. You are able to enjoy this free trial offer only once. I would wait for the end of the free trial before switching to Deezer HiFi if I were you

Cheers

im registered with a premium subscription for one year, if ill be upgrading to a HIFI account would i forfeit my remaining months of subscription from my premium account? Do deezer offer a longer subsription with the HIFI subscription or is it only on monthly basis? Hoping to hear from you guys and thanks for the information needed by a fellow deezer avid follower.

Have a nice weekend

I have several questions

1. how does it work if the song in the imac pro and iphone app is hi-fi?
2. Does the desktop app for mac support hi-fi? or just premium?
3. how do i search only the songs that are hi-fi in the mac desktop app?

Hello @zorcom, yes the desktop app supports HiFi, the vast majority of the catalogue is available in HiFi, you can actually choose in your audio settings the quality you want (HiFi, HQ, etc) in the app on iPhone or iMac.

Have a nice day

You can check if a song is really in HiFi on its album cover in the play queue view.

I have just upgraded from premium to hifi, I have Sony wf-1000xm3 wireless earbuds. the songs that have hifi active there is alot of difference.

Who is using hifi and how it is compared to premium?

I mean if you listen on Bluetooth for example, on Sony high end Sony WH-1000XM3, is it worth the update for flac? Just question, not planning to update. I can’t find any audio issues on HQ.

It sounds perfect. In my opinion most bluetooth can limit the sound.

Do you feel like after updating to flac there is no way back?

My honest opinion you do not need lossless in case you are just casual listener on average devices. Of course if you have sound systems, expensive headphones, it may be worth the price.

I consider myself music lover, and for me Deezer Premium HQ is perfect.

Also I need to pay €5 less. So I save €60 a year not going hifi.

Deezer customer service actually recommended me hifi service as I searched option for Google replacing 320K GPM with 256K YTM. Consider our hifi, but in Premium 320K to continue.

I went to Premium, because I do not have high end in my devices.

I also compared few songs flac vs. mp3 320K and they do sound about the same. The difference between them is tiny to the flac’s win -- but paying more is not important.

HQ on Deezer is very good, it is pleasure to hear with slightly less to hear.

You may need hifi, but then again you may know why.

On bluetooth with Sony WH-1000XM3 I didn’t find too much reason to hurry for a flac.

If you invested thousands in sound, then maybe €5 add to it isn’t going to break your bank.

I just started a Deezer premium evaluation period by creating an account.

I can play lossless HIFI audio on my Samsung S10, but I can’t on my Onkyo TR-NR686.

What needs to be done to get that working?

(I have been playing lossless HIFI audio from TIDAL, which worked greated)

Hello @FStokkel, you need a HiFi subscription to be able to play HiFi content on your Onkyo and any other devices supported by this subscription. Theoretically, you can only play HQ with the Premium subscription (320 kbps) on your smartphone.
