Error message: Your Deezer account is currently in listening mode on another device


The app is stop working frequently and cannot be used.
A message indicate that there is another app in use with the same credentials.

bug valid for all platforms and there is not related to the beta version

Since this morning my account is used by an other device. I checked the devices that are registerd and there are only my 2 phones in it. I chanced my password and also deleted my SONOS en chromecast in the account. Afther all of this it is still taking over by someone else. Who can help me please? 

Hi, I keep getting the "Someone else listening message", and the music keeps switching to songs I've never heard of. I've tried logging out and changing my password, but the same thing happens (with the same wrong music taking over). Please can this be fixed? Thanks

The “fortunately” is that there’s some account maintenance that can sometimes stop this from happening.

The “unfortunately” is that, as you’ve experienced, there doesn’t seem to be a way to immediately stop it. I changed my password, started messing with their songs by skipping back and forth, and then started playing songs like “Crossed Wires” and “LOGOUT” over and over. I’m not sure if they got the message or not but eventually it stopped and didn’t come back (before any “maintenance” was carried out).

Did you notice any other symptoms? Is it just the error and your music is being controlled, or have you noticed anything like favourite tracks being added that you didn’t add, any library changes etc?

@Rudi another one needing maintenance

I'm having the same issue but I'm sure it's someone who was once on my family subscription, since I've restarted with just a premium subscription, removed linked devices as possible, changed password, attempted to change email, logged out and back in, and it's a war for listening privileges because I can't force remove them. Please help!

That’s definitely not the answer to my question by the way. This has had a lasting impact on my account so needs a proper answer. Can you I mark it as answered?

I wouldn't use FB or Google to log in, and you might want to change the email address you use in the account :thumbsup_tone2:

I am buying dezzer + premium every mounth... and I send you this problem with picture... One idiot is hacking my account and listening his songs at my dezzer account. I dont know who is this person, I need help as fast it is possible... I cant chill with music, every time I play my list of songs it shows me that what is in a picture again sent... This is my email... I paid dezzer from telenor mobile network. PLS HELP ME

Hi @farmer123 I just sent you a password renewal link to your email address. Please click on the link in the email and enter a new password.

I would advise you to carry out the following steps in order to protect all your online accounts, not only Deezer:

  • Regularly scan your systems for malicious software
  • Avoid using the same password email combination for all online services
  • Change your password regularly and make sure it is a strong password combination
  • Use your email address as a login only
  • change other passwords (facebook and google)

This is extremely tedious and frustrating espcially when has a premium account. I suspect it might be an effect of the desktop app but of course, this won’t solve any problems. I changed my password several times, and nothing seems to work.

Any login attempts should be indeed notified of, but I suspect another inherent bug exists that causes this error.

Sorry you feel that way. I've had a look at your account and carried out some maintenance. Please follow the password reset email I sent you and change your password once more. Please avoid logging in via Facebook - for added security. And let me know how it goes :wink:

Same issue here, but my account is brand new, I just created it today.

 

“someone else must be listening”

Hi, I have the same issue like others. Music plays for a few seconds and then stops with a pop-up telling me that my account is being used on another device. I reset pswd but it doesn’t help. Please fix this annoying bug. 

I have a premium subscription and this is happening to me constantly. I’ve checked no one else is using, changed passwords, re-installed all apps, and still it persists.

Deezer please fix this or my next step is to cancel my subscription and go to a different streaming provider. Hopefully I get a full refund!! 

I have the same issue since a while. Changing the password doesn't  solve anything. The only “solution” I have found is not use deezer during that day,.

Taking into account the price that we are paying every month this is unacceptable.

Deezer many times has stopped my music and show me notification - your Deezer account is currently in listening mode on another device. But it’s not true. I use a family account with my gf only. 

I changed the password but the problem has not solved.

Please do anything with it! I have been using your service for many years and pay money for it...

Hi @Caro.Mark, hi @Jon M we are sorry to hear this is happening. The bug has been fixed quite some time ago. 

I just unlinked your accounts from Google+, unlinked all connected devices and sent you a password renewal link to your email address. Please click on the link in the email and enter a new password.
