1- Deezer web app > cookie preferences prior to login > purposes.

Does checking the box, accept or reject cookies?

It’s very ambiguous.

2- Also, does reject all apply to vendors only?

I assume that it does.

3- How long after saving my preferences before  they take effect.

Ublock-Origin is still shows facebook after I rejected all and checked all - any explanation?

4- What is being verified, and what is the purpose of verifying a paying customer?

This is typically used to verify that someone is human.  At times it can be a real pita.

Well, first of all, which question did you attempt to answer?  They are numbered for a purpose.

But I did phrase question one (1) incorrectly.

Question # 1 should read, “Does checking the box accept of reject the relevant “Purposes”?

In that context, it does not depend upon the box that is clicked or ‘checked.’

The default is the boxes are unchecked, which I would assume would be so that Deezer has as much info as possible, and therefore checked should be to disable or reject the tracking/following/etc.

But conversely in the style or context of reading it, this is counter intuitive and actually incorrect; i.e.,

checking  “Select basic ads”  would imply that you want basic ads.

In that regards, it’s very ambiguous and misleading.

Do you use the web app yourself?

EDIT - For others - RESPONSE FROM SUPPORT

1- Deezer web app > cookie preferences prior to login > purposes. Does checking the box, accept or reject cookies?
Checking the box means accepting cookies. Leaving the box unchecked means refusing cookies. This is in line with the applicable legal requirements and regulatory guidelines on the use of trackers. Data protection authorities require consent to be given by a positive action of the user. They explicitly consider that pre-ticked boxes, browsing on the website/app or scrolling down the page do not constitute valid consent.

2- Also, does reject all apply to vendors only? I assume that it does."Reject all" applies to all trackers, whether used by Deezer or vendors, with the exception of the trackers that are necessary for Deezer to provide its services.

3- How long after saving my preferences before they take effect. It takes effect immediately. The remaining Facebook cookie is related to Facebook Connect, ie. for authentication purpose, and is not used for advertising/marketing or other tracking activities.

4- What is being verified, and what is the purpose of verifying a paying customer?Verifying a paying customer is necessary for the purpose of preventing the fraudulent use of a Deezer account (eg., a premium account shared with other people). This is part of our contractual obligations towards music labels and publishing bodies. We verify how many devices connect to one account, the IP addresses used to connect to this account, mainly.

Well this is useless.

Where can one get some Deezer support?

It depends on the box you have clicked.
