So, I'm receiving this error message and I have tried all the suggestions mentioned in all of the threads i've found about this issue.

Here's my reply to another thread:

"I've done some more digging and it appears that all those affected are probably playing the same artists. I can tell because my last.fm account was linked to deezer and all the artists I didn't recognise have new profiles on last.fm (which generate new ones if the artist isn't known/hasn't been played before).

I then looked at all the last.fm profiles which are "top fans/listeners" i.e. have scrobbled these artists a lot recently. All are uncharacteristic of their taste in music, so I can only deduce that all those with this issue recently are being affected by the same malicious user/hacker.

This isn't a last.fm issue since unlinking the profile and setting two different passwords for both accounts still doesn't kick this other user from my account. "

I think we may have a more serious issue at hand - good job deezer. And I can't simply delete my payment details without deleting my account, so that's also useful, lads.

Hi there @Yushi @sorfildor @dvdndh

Thank you for your patience. Sorry that's happened. Unfortunately this has been an issue which other users have faced, not linked to Last.fm. So I've carried out some maintenance tasks on your account and sent password reset emails. Please change your password and use email to login, not social media. Let me know if you need any further help 👍🏼

Hi All,

I'm subscribed to Deezer service with the "Deezer Premium" subscription plan since December 2017.
Few days ago I've received the following error massage saying "Hmm.. Someone else must be listening" and the streaming stops...

I've checked in the guide lines and it says there that "Your subscription doesn't allow you to enjoy Deezer Premium on more than 3 devices."
Then I've checked again just to verify that i'm the only one that trying to access my account at that specific time.

I really don't know what happened or changed but my Deezer is not working on my cellular phone anymore....

Please assist asap...
Thank you,
Yushi.

issue with what? if it's not last.fm, and many people have had the exact same issue - then is the Deezer platform compromised? I've never used social media to log into my account.

Some people use Google or Facebook to login, instead of directly entering the email @sorfildor. No compromise to our platform, but our devs are still investigating this at the moment. We're keeping a close eye on it and will let you know once we find out more about it 👍🏼
Hello, I get the same problem for over a week now at random hours. I erased the link with my FB account, clicked on forgot password, changed my password, logged out and relogged in. The problem still persists. Please help, or I will turn off my paid membership at the end of the month. Not worth paying for someone else to listen to music on my expense...Thank you!

Hi there @Claudia Toma

Hi,
I have the exact same problem.

I have changed my password. This has not solved the problem.

I will end my subscription if the problem is not solved.

I look forward to getting an answer shortly.

Hi Rudi, I changed the password again after you said you looked at my account. I will be on a lookout for suspicious behavior and tell you if the problem persists. Thank you! BTW, the band it always switches to without my permission is B.I.B.Z - Bring you down. So i'm guessing there is a bot that does this...maybe that will help...

Hello. The problem persists. Someone is still listening to the same sh**ty band while I'm not active. Look in the recently played tracks...it's BIBZ again (see picture attached). Can you try to find other solutions? This clearly didn't work. Also can you check from which IP was the account last accessed? Thank you!

Hi again @Claudia Toma

Sorry about that, once more. Please get in touch with our support team here, for further help. I advise you to access Deezer from a PC/Mac and change your email address. The support team can do that too 👍🏼

any update as to why this has happened? I'm reluctant to renew my subscription and would appreciate some clarity on the issue

Also, i noticed my topic on this issue has disappeared? deleted from the forum? 🤔

If it was removed, @sorfildor it was because it was duplicated from your reply. We prefer to keep related issues together under 1 topic so that no one misses updates.

The pop up message was a bug. Not to do with account access 👍🏼

This issue was reported a month ago, and only now you have replied with some clarity. due to this, i did not reactivate my subscription and lost my student discount. For some pointless reason it won't allow me to renew if it has been canceled.

This is poor customer service and there is no incentive for me to remain with deezer. Now, if i want a student discount I have to go to a rival streaming service as you won't allow me to renew even though I meet all the conditions. 👎🏼
I am getting the same message for the last 3 days, I tried everything suggested here, changed password, deleted the app and reinstalled, even subscribing to the family package even though I am only using Deezer on ONE device, I confirmed this on my account. Deleted the device and linked again. Even after all of this (even after purchasing the family account I am still getting the hmmm someone else must be listening message every 5 seconds. The only solution now is to uninstall and find an alternative.
Tried it again today, getting an 'official looking' message saying that my account is in listening mode on another device even though:
1) I ONLY have Deezer on my phone, I have triple checked and
2) I have upgraded to a family package after finding the previous prompts annoying; so even if someone else was listening, it should be fine!

It is high time that Deezer stops blaming users for this and take responsibility that this is a problem on their end. Changing passwords and crap doesn't seem to be doing jack about it!

Hi there @mkwilasa

Sorry for the tardy reply. I've run some maintenance on your account and have sent you a password reset email. Please change your password and reinstall the app to the latest version. It should fix the problem.

For your consideration, we have mentioned above it was a bug - fixed now :thumbsup_tone2:
