Why can’t I get a hifi account?

Hello @Marinel you can only have one subscription per Deezer account - either iTunes Deezer Premium OR Deezer Hifi. 

I’ve checked your account and can see that your Deezer subscription is paid through iTunes. This means the cancellation needs to be done via iTunes too. For security reasons Apple (iTunes) doesn’t allow us access to your iTunes account, so it can’t be cancelled from our end.

Please follow these steps to cancel your Premium subscription on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top of the screen
  3. Tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in or use Touch ID
  4. Tap Subscriptions
  5. Tap the Deezer subscription
  6. If you don't see a subscription but are still being charged, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID
  7. Use the options to cancel your subscription. Once you cancel, your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle. Afterwards, you can use the same Deezer account to subscribe to Deezer HiFi :wink:

Hi Maurice, what happens when you try to subscribe to hifi? Is there an error message?
hi I try to subscribe to Deezer HiFi but it seems I can only get premium + ... I live in Abu Dhabi and I use your mac desktop app for listening at home ... HiFi quality worked when the beta version appeared but not now and I can't subscribe to hifi neither. please help

I checked your account and you currently have a premium subscription you paid via gift card, right? That's why it's not working, you need to wait for that to expire, then you'll be able to change to hifi 🙂

So I’ve looked on other discussion boards and follow links to upgrade and all I get to it says that I’m not eligible for this offer. I’m not wanting any more offers I’m quite happy to pay the full price. I currently have Deezer plus but I have a Sonos throughout the house and I would like hi-fi and I can’t upgrade ! Help

Hi there, I checked here and you're currently subscribed via iTunes, right? You can't upgrade to HiFi via iTunes, so you need to cancel that subscription, wait for it to expire and then subscribe to HiFi 🙂

are you subscribed via iTunes? If so, you can't upgrade to HiFi via iTunes, so you need to cancel that subscription, wait for it to expire and then subscribe to HiFi :)

If you're not via iTunes then you should be able to go into settings, manage subscription and have an options to upgrade.

Please advise (with more details) if you have problems 🙂

please cancel your account and wait until the end of your already paid subscription. Once your account is back to gratuit you will be able to subscribe to our HiFi plan 😉

You can do it from here 🙂 Only if you subscribe via iTunes, you have to cancel your subscription first, wait until it gets Free again and then subscribe from this link I sent.

I signed up via itunes. If i understand i correctly i am not capable to simply upgrade my subscription from within the app?? This is 2019 right ?

Anyway, so you state that I have to cancel my subscription wait untill it expires and then sign up again? First off, that means i can't use HiFi instantly and i have to wait two weeks? Unfortunately I need to do a hi res audio demo for a client shortly so i can't do it with deezer? Guess i need to look at Tidal??

Secondly, what happens to my existing playlists and music if i have to completely cancel the subscription to be able to change?

Hey there @bartclaes

I understand your frustration, and Apple doesn't make it easy for us either. About your existing music, don't worry. If you cancel your subscription and revert to Free, everything will stay there - you just won't be able to play downloaded content without a paid subscription but everything will be saved.

About waiting 2 weeks before getting HiFi, why don't you talk to our mates in the support team? They might be able to sort that out for you 😉
I'm trying to upgrade deezer family to hifi (and after that adding a new deezer family)

When I click More info on https://www.deezer.com/en/offers the next page is https://www.deezer.com/en/offers/hifi. Here I can only click on Try it free... after that I'm on a page to change my payment method for deezer family. After filling out the requested information the membership remains the same (family).

As far as I know, there are no regional restrictions for HiFi, but you are probably on a Premium account right now which you would have to cancel first, maybe even a special offer by your internet service provider?
