Can't you scrobble with secondary profile on Family account?

I was looking for a way to connect my Deezer family side-account with last.fm, it turns out onlyl the primary account can, and can share on social media...why so ? And can it be fixed (I doubt it will... but who knows) ?

Hi @briac, yes atm only the masteraccount can link the profile to last.fm. The reason for that is that both services are linked through a shared email address and the child profiles don't have their own account email address. But I'm happy to share your feedback with the team. Maybe this can be changed in the future ☺

Hi @Anja, I'm adding my vote for the sync of family accounts to last.fm. I had to get rid of my account because we couldn't all scrobble our music.

Using the external browser extension Last.fm web scrobbler should prevent this, because each family member can either install / enable it in his or her browser or not.

That's a cool workaround, @bluezzbastardzz I haven't thought of that option. Have you tried it yourself?

I don't have a family account, but I'm using the browser extension right now due to the scrobbling problems which I mentioned elsewhere with added track info in brackets when using the internal Deezer scrobbling option. It is available for Chrome, Opera and Firefox, by the way:

If you use it, you should also disable the internal Deezer scrobbling, otherwise you will get duplicate scrobbles. The drawback is that disabling it in the web player also disables it for Deezer mobile and desktop apps. The official Last.fm for Android app can help out with Deezer scrobbling then, but I am not sure for iOS mobile devices and its Last.fm app nor is there another solution for Deezer's desktop apps (the one for Windows 10 and the new beta version). See also the related Last.fm FAQ on Get Satisfaction about Deezer scrobbling.
@Anja Is there some roadmap or can you guess if and when this feature will be implemented?
last.fm authentication should be via token (https://www.last.fm/api/authspec) so I don't understand why an email address is necessary

thx

scrobbling on family accounts is the main issue that makes me tend to switch to spotify again...

Hi @Thommy.Doombringer we do not know when this will be available I am afraid. In order to make Last.Fm work with Deezer accounts the secondary profiles would need an email address in order to link it to a last.fm account.

I will however pass on what you have told us above to our devs 😉

Is this really solved?

Hi @sirdukeluckyluke we have marked this as solved, because we do not offer this feature at the moment, it is not a bug. If you like you can create a topic in our suggestion forum for this, as it would be a new feature 😉
