Desktop app crashes on windows 8 (Current issue)


Hello, I have just purchased the HiFi pack but the desktop app crashes on start (after less then a second) and I can't listen to high quality audio. Can someone please assist me on the situation?

I tired it on 2 pc's - one running on windows 7 and other on windows 10

Please someone assist me on the problem.

Hi there, sorry about that. Wich version of the app do you have installed? Have you tried to reinstall the app?

After update of the PC software stopped to work.So it launches and kicked out immediately.
Win 8 - PC. Nothin helps
What has happened?
Have the same issue. Started today, few days ago all worked correctly.
After crashes I downloaded latest version from site(0.18.2) and reinstall it, the same result. Application try to launch and after one or two seconds it closes.
No any logs.

Found old version 0.8.0, install it - works. After updating to latest version app fails again

I've been using Deezer for months, I am a hi-fi subscribed user, just like 2 hours ago I updated the desktop app to the latest version 0.18.2.19, and then I can't even open it again! It shows me the white screen that it's opening and then after like a second it closes again, I am using Windows 8.1.
Can you please help me resolve this issue? I've never experienced this before. I uninstalled and installed again but still not working, it doesn't even show any message, only the white screen when normally deezer opens but then it quits in a second.

Same problem here,, tried everything; several reinstalls; app not being blocked by firewall. App just shuts down spontaneously after a second.

Hi there, can you tell me which version of the desktop app you have?
I'm experiencing the same problem on Win 10 Pro, I'm currently using v0.18.2.19 updated on the 2018/11/16

As a workaround,

I kept a copy of previous version folder (17.5.410) whose is working on my system.

Actual Folder where Deezer is installed on Windows 8.1

%localappdata%\Programs\


I have to not close the application, if I don't want it updated to lastest version.

If so, I replace the folder by my copy and open again.

Too bad it will not work for me, I don't have a copy of the app's old version, I already updated it today and I still can't open the deezer app on my windows machine, I sent an email to deezer support and they said there is a problem with the version itself and they are working on fixing on it, I hope they fix it soon.

Hello. I got new PC version 0.18.2, but problem of long loading of the main page and songs remained.
Win standalone application crashes on startup. It worked fine till 2 weeks ago, at the time it suddenly stopped launching on my home Pc, and since monday of this week also on my work Pc is happening the same.
Any idea from devs on how can i provide some information about the crash?

I have been a subscriber but woke up this morning with a unregistered deezer account. All my music gone!!!!!!!



Windows 8.1 desktop app instantly crash.. Crash version 0.18.x (i tested 0.18.1 and 0.18.2)
And 0.17.0 and 0.17.6 work perfect.. But app auto update and again 0.18.2 and crash again.. Please help us..

Yo acabo de descargar DEEZER al pc y por lo que se ve no soy el único que tiene el problema. Abres el programa e inmediatamente se cierra. Dicen que lo van a arreglar, pero cuándo????
Para esto me he suscrito??? Si no me puedo descargar música para que lo quiero????
The application is down for 7 days, and you weren't able to release fix nor rollback some old release that is working?

I'm considering cancelling my subscription.

Until the bug was fixed, If you don't want to constantly reinstall Deezer:

Install previous version 0.17.6

After installation, close the app, go to the app folder under %localappdata%\Programs\Deeser.desktop\resources\

With a text editor like Notepad++, edit the file "app.asar" and change the version value from 0.17.6 to something else like 0.25.0.

Save, close and open Deezer.

Deezer display the actual version as 0.25.0 and will not update until the next version will be higher than 0.25.0.

When the bug will be fixed, install Deezer again or modify the version to the original value, Deezer will update automatically next opening.

New version doesn't work too 😞 Still crashes. I tried update on the old version and clean install, result the same
