Android Auto stuck at loading [Current issue]

I am having same issue here, once I connect my phone to my car's Android Auto (via cable, bluetooth activates automatically), I can no longer launch "Deezer", it keeps loading, stuck at initialization. If I unlock my phone and try to open the app, same happens while connected to the car, splash screen keeps hanging. I have to disconnect my phone from my car (both cable and bluetooth), then close all applications and try launching Deezer again. It usually launches normally in this case, then if I connect my phone back to the car while Deezer is already launched in the background, I can use Deezer in my car.
This started happening about 2 weeks ago.

@Anja , sure: I am using a Samsung S9 plus, Android 8.0.0, Deezer 5.4.19.9.
Issue only happens in the car when I'm connected to Android Auto.
If I connect via Bluetooth to other devices, or cars with no Android Auto, the problem is not reproducible.
It happens only when I connect my phone to my car and Android Auto launches, then when trying to launch the app whether from the car or from the phone, it keeps hanging.
As a workaround, I disconnect the cable from my car, and turn off bluetooth, kill all applications then start Deezer. It starts in the background, then I connect my phone to the car, and Deezer works fine.
Whenever I try to open Deezer in Android Auto inside my car it will just get stucked at loading.

I haven't had the same issue as Pierre Khoury, but in Android Auto when using Deezer the song pauses at the start at about the same frequency that it happens with bluetooth now (maybe once every 10-20 songs). When you click play again after it pauses, the program tries to play the song, pauses again and only works when you click play once more.

Hey guys - I had to move your comments to a new topic. There was a bit of a mix-up in this other thread.

Can you guys just make sure you're all using the latest version of our app? After checking, let me know which version exactly is installed on your devices.
Can anyone of you also send a picture/video of the screen Android Auto gets stuck on (you were mentioning it get's "stuck at loading")?

Same problem here since latest deezer app update. Just a spinning circle in the Android auto app. Same problem attached to car with USB and stand alone Android auto.

HTC U11 with Android 8.0
Deezer 5.4.21.16

Using Pixel 2 currently running Android P beta
Same issue when it was still Android 8.1 Deezer Ver 5.4.21.16

I also have a LG V30+ running Android 8.0 also encountering the same problem Deezer Ver 5.4.21.16

Same issue here too.....connected via usb to a Ford Sync head unit in a 66 plate mondeo. Just hangs at the loading screen.

I have the same issue. It was working fine until a few weeks ago and since then I've not been able to use Deezer. Google music works, Amazon music sometimes, Deezer just hangs.

My car is a Nissan Leaf and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8 on android 8.0.0 and Deezer is 5.4.21.16 and Android Auto 3.2.581534 (this was update this morning I believe).

Here same problem Galaxy s8 about 2 weeks android 8.0.0 .
I initially thought this is due to latest android auto update. So i rest android auto cache but it did not fix it. I then did the same but this time with the deezer app and it fixed it. App is once again working great. Please try it and let others know if it worked for you.

After observing it this afternoon, i confirmed it did not work. It seemed that you have to have deezer running in the backgroud before connecting your phone to the car. Anyway, you might want to try what i did to reset your deezer app cache and see if it helps a bit. Btw, im using an android smart phone in case you need to know

1. Go to Settings then find Apps. Note that it may vary from phone to phone but try using whatever is the equivalent on your device.



2. Inside, look for the Deezer app:



3. Tick the app and go to storage.



4. Press clear cache. DO NOT

clear data as it will wipe out even your downloaded tracks.
I'm getting the same problem. It started yesterday morning. I've tried clearing the cache on both the deezer app and android auto, but it hasn't worked.

The random pausing of tracks is bad enough, but if a fix for this isn't sorted soon I'll be cancelling my deezer sub. The main reason I pay for it is to listen to it in my car!

Having same issue started today, galaxy s8, latest oreo update, 5. 4.21.16.no car BT connection just phone plugged in via cables,. Deezer is crashing when opened in Auto, tried all the normal steps, clear cache reboot etc. Haven't tried reinstall of dezzer or Auto yet as I don't want to have to download all the music again. Is everyone having this issue on oreo?

@Shannon is anybody from deezer actively working on this issue? Your asked for screenshots and versions 3 days ago, many people delivered but we got no response here.

Additionally I'm a little bit irritated to find a post with the identical issue in the beta forum that is one month old Link, but you still decided to roll out the buggy in production without addressing the problem.
Having the exact same issue with galaxy s8, only started with the update to Deezer yesterday. Same as above I only use it to listen to music in the car so any update would be appreciated

Yep. Sad to say but it did not work. It seemed that in order for deezer to work, you have to open it first until you see the home screen. Once you are there, then you can connect your phone to the car. If that still won't work, follow what Pierre does.

1. Turn off bluetooth
2. Close all running app (may not be necessary)
3. Open deezer
4. Connect phone to usb in the car

I sometimes do 1 and 2 but most of the time 3 and 4 do. Below are the software versions on my phone.

Same here. Galaxy S8. All app updated to latest version. Cannot open Deezer when Android Auto running. Started 2 days ago. Please sold it fast as it is currently not usable in the car at all!
Hallelujah! Found a solution that works for me......if I open the Deezer app before I connect the phone to the car it works!

Obviously not ideal and Deezer devs need to find a solution.

Just started happening to me yesterday. Its hit or miss with my phone. But once I plug it into my car using Android auto it just hangs up on the start up screen. So glad I'm paying $20 a month for this.

Latest version of Deezer is freezing for me as well. All apps/OS are updated, cleared caches, reinstalled app...nothing helps. Using Galaxy S9+ and Ford Sync 3.

If this problem is not fixed soon, I have no choice but to cancel my Deezer HiFi subscription as I mainly use it in the car.

Right now Deezer is not working at all for me, please fix Android Auto bug as soon as possible please.
